NRL Round 6 Footy Tips
Storm vs Roosters
On Thursday night, the Melbourne Storm will face the Sydney Roosters at AAMI Park in an NRL blockbuster.
Despite the Roosters’ three-match winning streak, the Storm are coming off a brave win against the Rabbitohs despite missing several key players. The Storm has won five of the last six head-to-head meetings, giving Craig Bellamy’s team the advantage over Trent Robinson’s team.
Both teams will bring their A-game, with Jahrome Hughes returning for Melbourne and Joseph Manu replacing James Tedesco at fullback for Sydney. Melbourne’s Xavier Coates is expected to score at least one try, while the Roosters’ firepower will come from Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii and Jaxson Paulo.
Sydney has won their last eight-night encounters and might beat the Storm in a close game. My prediction is that the Roosters will win 24-22.
Betting Tip: Roosters
Suggested Bet: Roosters WINNING MARGIN 1-12
Bulldogs vs Rabbitohs
The Bulldogs have improved, but they are no match for the great Rabbitohs on Good Friday. South Sydney has won their last four encounters and will easily make it five in a row.
The Rabbitohs will have no trouble covering the line and winning with players like Latrell Mitchell and Cody Walker in good form, with Josh Addo-Carr scoring tries left and right.
Canterbury’s previous encounters have been competitive, but they will struggle to match Souths’ attacking prowess.
Anticipate the game to be decided by a score of 32-16 in favour of South Sydney.
Betting Tip: Rabbitohs
Suggested Bet: Rabbitohs WINNING MARGIN 13+
Cowboys vs Dolphins
The North Queensland Cowboys will face the Dolphins in what promises to be a thrilling all-Queensland clash.
The Cowboys have had a shaky start to the season, with only two victories in five games, but the return of key player Scott Drinkwater will give them a boost.
The Dolphins, on the other hand, are coming off two straight losses, and their flaws were revealed in their past game. With these considerations in mind, the Cowboys are the odds-on favourite to win this game, and they have a solid track record as favourites. North Queensland has also covered the line in five of their last six night encounters following a loss.
The Cowboys should win the game by a score of roughly 26-16. Kyle Feldt, who has scored a try in eight of his ten previous Friday night appearances at Queensland Country Bank Stadium, will be an important player to keep an eye on in this game.
Betting Tip: Cowboys
Suggested Bet: Cowboys HEAD-to-HEAD
Panthers vs Sea Eagles
Prepare for a Saturday night showdown between the Penrith Panthers and the Manly Sea Eagles!
While Manly will be pumped after achieving a draw against Newcastle, it’s difficult to bet against the defending premiers, who showed their true class in a 53-12 thrashing of the Raiders last round.
Despite the absence of James Fisher-Harris, Penrith boasts a plethora of skill in their ranks and will be looking to maintain their good record against Manly, having won 14 of their last 16 meetings.
For the Panthers, expect Brian To’o and Stephen Crichton to maintain their try-scoring streak, while the Sea Eagles will be led by Reuben Garrick and Haumole Olakauatu.
Realistically, the Panthers will likely dominate both halves and win by a score of roughly 30-14. Don’t miss out on this matchup; it’s going to be a blast!
Betting Tip: Panthers
Suggested Bet: Panthers WINNING MARGIN 13+
Broncos vs Raiders
The Brisbane Broncos are on fire and looking to maintain their unbeaten start to the season against the faltering Canberra Raiders.
The Broncos have a home advantage and a record of six straight wins against the Raiders at Suncorp Stadium, so they appear to be in good place to make it seven in a row. While the Raiders will be without their star player, Jack Wighton, the Broncos have named the same 17 players for the third week in a row, demonstrating their consistency and dependability.
Brisbane will be led by try-scoring monsters like Kotoni Staggs, Selwyn Cobbo, and Kurt Capewell, while Canberra will need Hudson Young and Jordan Rapana to step up.
In the end, the Broncos should easily win with a final score of 34-18. Prepare for another Brisbane bash!
Betting Tip: Broncos
Suggested Bet: Broncos WINNING MARGIN 13+
Titans vs Dragons
Get ready for an entertaining game as the Gold Coast Titans compete for a spot in the top eight against the St. George Illawarra Dragons.
While the Dragons won their most recent meeting, the Titans have won their last nine games as home favourites.
Despite some major injuries, the Titans have the firepower to maintain their strong home record. Expect for Alofi’ana Khan-Pereira to be the first try-scorer and David Fifita to keep his scoring spree going.
Meanwhile, for the Dragons, keep an eye on Tyrell Sloan and Brian Kelly.
Anticipate a high-scoring contest with both clubs vying for a top-eight finish. With a final score of 28-24, the Titans will win.
Betting Tip: Titans
Suggested Bet: Titans HEAD-to-HEAD
Knights vs Warriors
On Sunday night, the New Zealand Warriors will face the Newcastle Knights in an entertaining match!
Following a strong start to the season, the Warriors have gained a lot of confidence and are currently sitting in second place on the leaderboard.
Meanwhile, the Knights have played well so far, but with Tyson Gamble out with a concussion, they may struggle to match the Warriors’ firepower.
The Warriors have a head-to-head edge, having defeated the Knights earlier this season, and with key players like Te Maire Martin and Tohu Harris returning in the lineup, they’ll be eager to extend their winning streak. Records may fall more, but the Warriors’ momentum will not be stopped.
I expect a Warriors-Knights final score of 28-20.
Betting Tip: Warriors
Suggested Bet: Warriors WINNING MARGIN 1-12
Wests Tigers vs Eels
Prepare for a titanic showdown when the Wests Tigers take on the Parramatta Eels on Easter Monday.
The Eels have struggled this season, going 1-4, while the Tigers have yet to win a game in their last ten games. But don’t let that deceive you; in last year’s meeting, the Tigers pulled off a stunning upset as 20-point favourites. Can they pull it off again?
This game may go either way with Shaun Lane returning to the Eels team and the Tigers making some crucial adjustments. Nonetheless, history indicates that it will be a high-scoring contest, with nine of the last ten meetings between these two teams going over the total points line.
I’m betting on the Eels to win this one, but it won’t be easy. My prediction is that the game will be closer than predicted, with the Eels winning 28-22.
Betting Tip: Eels
Suggested Bet: Eels WINNING MARGIN 1-12
