Weekend Racing Review -6units – Saturday February 25

Michael Kruse / 25 February 2019

A total of 6units were lost on Saturday after outlaying 26 units

Avilius the little gem was our knight in shining armour who managed to salvage most of what looked to be a rough day on thee old punt

In hindsight, we probably could have left a couple out, but we didn’t.

Lessons learnt, horses black booked, on to next week!

Black bookers

Spright

Brooklyn Hustle

Review below,

Blue Diamond Stakes -4units

Very interesting Blue Diamond this year with the race being ran at a blistering pace

Lyre took out the race with an exceptional ride from L. Currie screaming home from 2nd last before the turn

Catch me just simply couldn’t catch a cold.

Didn’t settle in the run at all as you can see below, he was all over the shop

The Hustle managed to cover more ground than Burke & Wills

Brooklyn tracked Lyre on the turn but seem to run out of puff… a run short? 1000-1100m her go?

For those reasons the Hustle can take a seat in our Black book

Peter Young Stakes +19units

Just the complete package isn’t he?

Serious horse James Cummings has on his hands here

Plenty of wow factor, once he got out it was all over red rover

Futurity Stakes  -2units

Alizee was always going to be tough to beat, such a good orse!

We really thought old Redjerk warrior was ready to bring his A game hence the Each Way play

Seemed to be tracking Alizee well in the straight

Copped a squeeze bump between Alizee and Brave Smash which couldn’t have helped.

Oakleigh plate -2units

Booker was simply brilliant, a great training performance from Ellerton & Zahra

And the ride from D. Yendall wasn’t too shabby either. Well timed to perfection.

Nature Strip was as flat as a pancake. Best kept fresh?

Where did that leave our little Spright? Absolutely flashing home.

Check out her run below, flashing at the 100 with what looks like PLENTY left to give.

Grab Ms Spright and place her ever so gently into black book.

Angus Armanasco Stakes -1unit

News flash, our tip News Girl didn’t get the chocolates

Nor did she manage to place herself on the podium

She finished fourth, we got it wrong

Qafila was enormous storming home to win

Caulfield Autumn Classic -5units

Was quite keen on this girl hence the 5unit play

What happened? Good question, had absolutely nothing left in the tank on the turn and was gobbled up quite quickly

C.Maher looks to have a good horse on his hands with Global Exchange what a weapon
