Senet, the leading specialist gambling law firm in Australia, has announced that Bree Ryan, the former Tabcorp deputy general counsel will join the regulatory and compliance advisor. Ryan will serve as a senior associate at Senet.
Interestingly, Bree Ryan is not the first former Tabcorp lawyer to be joining Senet. The firm that specializes in gambling and wagering legislation also has principals Daniel Lovecek and Julian Hoskins, who both spent time at Tabcorp. Similarly, Senet’s senior associate Caitlin McCombe served as in-house counsel for the betting operator.
Strong Network of Betting Industry Connections
Ryan is a wagering specialist with a degree from La Trobe University. She has worked for Minter Ellison and spent time with Australia’s largest betting operator Sportsbet too.
Senet principal Julian Hoskins was delighted to welcome Ryan to the firm. He said that they were “the largest and most experienced” gambling law advisory in Australia, and Bree’s expertise would “complement the team” and help them support their clients better.
Hoskins highlighted Bree Ryan’s “strong network of connections with domestic and international operators,”clearly alluding to her experience with Tabcorp and Flutter-owned Sportsbet.
Ryan has experience in the market sphere too. She was a principal legal counsel on a merger between two ASX-listed corporations and served as a legal advisor in several other strategically important moves Australian companies made.
She has also been involved in many regulatory inquiries, responsible gaming initiatives, and compliance reforms.
