BetMakers Technology Group and CrossBet, sports betting companies with headquarters in Australia, have announced that they will embark on a joint venture to enter the wagering market in Ontario.

All forms of sports betting will become legal in the Ontario province in April 2022. CrossBet will be joined by BetMakers in its effort to get a larger share of the betting market in Canada’s most populous province.

BetMakers Supported CrossBet’s Growth in Australia

The two sports betting companies worked together before when BetMakers supported CrossBet’s operations in Australia. The two wagering operators will now turn to the same strategy when entering Ontario’s regulated market.

Scott Cross, CrossBet’s owner, said that he was very pleased to once again partner with BetMakers, especially as Ontario was the company’s first foray into an international betting market.

Cross added that it was an easy decision to embark on another venture with BetMakers, as the company was key in CrossBet’s expansion and growth in Australia.

The people at CrossBet are convinced that the BetMakers’ technology will give them the tools to be successful in their global growth strategy, just as it did in Australia.

Betting Platform Will Complement BetMakers’ Fixed Odds Offering

Jake Henson, BetMakers Chief Operating Officer (COO), was equally delighted and enthusiastic about the renewed partnership between the two betting providers. He said that soon after CrossBet launched in Australia using BetMakers’ industry-leading technology, they quickly turned into an “up-and-comer” in the digital wagering space and, more recently, started sponsoring national sports competitions.

Even though BetMakers is present in North America through its fixed-odds betting technology that some US sportsbooks use, launching a full-fledged betting platform with CrossBet in Ontario would represent BetMakers’ first full platform launch in North America.

Henson said that the CrossBet and BetMakers platform would complement their existing digital racing offering in the North American market, and would demonstrate the “depth and breadth” of BetMakers’ digital capabilities.
