At the time of writing bet365 had the head to head for Manly Sea Eagles is set at $1.14, and $5.75 for the Parramatta Eels, This sets the bookmakers implied probability for both teams as follows:
So here’s the thing, the bookies are seriously underselling the Eels here. While we agree Manly deserve favouritism, we’ve got the Eels with nearly double the chance of winning compared to what the market is saying.
Based on our numbers, the Eels should be priced closer to $3.57, not the massive $5.75 that’s on offer right now. That’s a huge gap, and one that creates a solid value play.
What to do?
The Eels might be longshots, but they’re not as far off the mark as the odds suggest. If our model’s right, there’s definite value backing Parramatta in this one. if you see an upset on the cards… unfortunately we just don’t see that happening.
The Eels haven’t beaten the Sea Eagles at 4 Pines since 2022, and with the last two games between these two team having a margin of less that 12 points logic points towards a close game, however, we can’t see anything less than a 13+ point difference in this game, Manly have the goods at the moment, and the Eels are, well… the Eels.
