2026 AFL Fixture

The 2026 AFL Fixture is officially released, marking an exciting start to the AFL season with a unique “opening round” preceding Round 1. This innovative approach will showcase four spectacular matches spread across Sydney and Queensland. This early kickoff happens a week prior to the usual commencement of the AFL season.

Following this initial round, fans can anticipate a comprehensive nine-game AFL Draw the subsequent week. Each of the participating eight teams from the “opening round” is scheduled for a bye during Rounds 2 to 6. The AFL Fixture highlights an inaugural season match between Sydney and Melbourne at the SCG, set for Thursday, March 7. Another highlight in the AFL Draw is the much-anticipated clash at the MCG – a traditional blockbuster featuring Carlton and Richmond, slated for the following week.

The AFL Fixture also teases a highly awaited match, where Collingwood will battle against their grand final rivals, Brisbane, at the Gabba in Round 3. This crucial match is scheduled for Thursday, March 28 at 7:30pm, adding to the excitement of the 2026 AFL season.
