Top 5 Winx Races To Date

Michael Kruse / 4 October 2018

In Honour of the mighty mare (Winx) running in the Turnbull stakes this weekend.

We have decided to come up with our top 5 favourite wins to date from the Queen of the turf.

Top 5 Winx wins.

#5

Just breathtaking was the way she finished the 2017 Turnbull Stakes at Flemington wow…  Just doing what she does best, getting back in the race and then zooming down the outside making light work of the field at hand. Can’t wait to see her in action in this weekend’s Turnbull Stakes.

#4

Up next we have the 2017 Cox plate. What a nail biter this was. On paper, I think everybody thought she would win and win quite easily with not a care in sight but coming home with a wet sail was Humidor surging late but it seemed as if Winx knew and didn’t let up. Loved every minute of this.

#3

2016 Caulfield Stakes. Now there was only 3 horses in this race but that’s what made it all the more interesting, what we thought was going to be a cake walk turned out to be a real battle till the finish with Black Heart Bart really pushing her until the last 100m or so.

#2

The 2017 Warwick Stakes WOW. She misses the start by lengths and still manages to savage the line narrowly with Bowman having to pull the whip on her, it really will go down as one of the all-time great wins of her career.

#1

Coming in at number #1 spot for us was the 2016 Cox plate, maybe a little bias towards this one as we were there but the lead up to this was fantastic as they painted the battle of the 2 Hartnell v Winx with the mighty mare really putting Hartnell to the sword and running away with one of the greatest wins in Cox plate history.
