NRL Betting Tips & Predictions – Round 4

Round 4 and the picture is starting to get clearer – and uglier for some sides.

Melbourne are looking like the real deal at #1. The Panthers just put 40 on the Roosters. The Dolphins are on a genuine attacking tear. And down the bottom, the Dragons are still searching for their first win while the Titans are barely keeping their head above water.

Eight games across Thursday to Sunday. I’ve run the numbers on every matchup. Here’s where I’m putting my money.

Thursday, March 26

Manly Sea Eagles vs Sydney Roosters

The model says Eagles by 2 at 40% confidence – and I’m not hiding from that number. The Roosters just got smashed 40-4 by Penrith, but I’m not ready to write them off entirely. The handicap is the play here, not the H2H. At +7.5, Manly don’t even need to win.

BEST BET
SEA EAGLES vs ROOSTERS • 4 PINES PARK
Tip: SEA EAGLES +7.5
Odds: $1.90
Confidence
4/10
Opportunity: Manly are averaging 33.8 PPG at home and the Roosters scored just 4 last week. Sydney need to win by 8+ to beat us here – and right now their attack at 19.2 PPG just doesn’t support that kind of margin. Light stake.

New Zealand Warriors vs Wests Tigers

One of the cleaner calls of the round. Warriors at #3 vs Tigers at #14, conceding just 17.2 per game, averaging 30.8 in attack. Auckland are playing their best football of the season and the Tigers are 1-4. The H2H is a multi leg; the real money is on the -12.5 at $1.90.

BEST BET
WARRIORS vs TIGERS • GO MEDIA STADIUM
Tip: WARRIORS H2H
Odds: $1.22
Confidence
7/10
Opportunity: Warriors -12.5 at $1.90 is the value play. The model predicts a 13-point win and the Warriors’ elite defence (17.2 conceded) should suppress the Tigers enough to cover. Nearly even money on a 74% confidence tip – that’s the standalone bet.

→ Full Warriors vs Tigers Prediction

Brisbane Broncos vs Dolphins

The form guide versus the brand name. The Dolphins are averaging 36.8 PPG – best attacking numbers in the comp over the last five rounds – and they’re rolling into Suncorp to face a Broncos side that’s only managing 19.6 in attack. 40% confidence, so this is a light stake only. The handicap is the sensible play.

BEST BET
BRONCOS vs DOLPHINS • SUNCORP STADIUM
Tip: DOLPHINS +3.5
Odds: $1.93
Confidence
4/10
Opportunity: The Dolphins don’t need to win – just stay within a converted try of a Broncos side averaging 19.6 PPG. Melbourne beat Brisbane at Suncorp last week. The Dolphins at +3.5 feels very achievable for the hottest attacking team in the competition. Light stake.

→ Full Broncos vs Dolphins Prediction

Saturday, March 28

Canterbury Bulldogs vs Newcastle Knights

Looks like a coin flip on form record alone – both sides are 2-3. It’s not. Canterbury’s defence (18.8 conceded) is genuinely tight, and the Knights are leaking 31.6 per game. The Bulldogs’ attack has been quiet at 14.2 PPG, which is why I’m not rushing to the -13.5. The H2H is the multi leg here.

BEST BET
BULLDOGS vs KNIGHTS • ACCOR STADIUM
Tip: BULLDOGS H2H
Odds: $1.23
Confidence
7/10
Opportunity: The Bulldogs -13.5 at $1.90 is there if you want it – but Canterbury scoring 14.2 PPG in attack makes that line a stretch. Model says 9-point win. Use the H2H as a multi leg; the handicap is speculative at best.

→ Full Bulldogs vs Knights Prediction

Penrith Panthers vs Parramatta Eels

Don’t be fooled by the identical 4-1 form records. The Panthers are +17.2 per game; the Eels are -1.2. They’ve been winning scrappy games by the skin of their teeth. Penrith are winning by piling on. At home after last week’s 40-point demolition of the Roosters, this is one of the stronger plays of the round.

BEST BET
Tip: PANTHERS -14.5
Odds: $1.98
Confidence
6/10
Opportunity: Model says 16-point win, line is 14.5. Nearly $2.00 for a team conceding 11.2 per game at home against a side leaking 27.2 in defence. Penrith don’t ease off – they buried the Roosters last week and they’ll do the same here if the Eels let them.

→ Full Panthers vs Eels Prediction

North Queensland Cowboys vs Melbourne Storm

The bet of the round. 80% confidence. Storm #1 in the competition, Cowboys #13, and North Queensland just lost to the Titans last week without Reuben Cotter. Melbourne went to Suncorp and won in Round 3. They’re not rattled by hostile environments – and Townsville on Saturday night is exactly that.

BEST BET
COWBOYS vs STORM • QLD COUNTRY BANK STADIUM
Tip: STORM -15.5
Odds: $1.90
Confidence
8/10
Opportunity: Model predicts Storm by 20. The line is -15.5. That’s a 4.5-point buffer on the highest confidence tip of the round at $1.90. Melbourne are conceding 15.2 per game – the Cowboys’ attack is going to find nothing out there. This is the week to back the best team in the comp.

→ Full Cowboys vs Storm Prediction

Sunday, March 29

Canberra Raiders vs Cronulla Sharks

Neither side is playing great football right now. The Raiders are 1-4 and scoring just 13 points a game – the lowest attacking number of anyone on this week’s card. The Sharks got belted 38-10 by the Dolphins last week, but they’re still the better defensive team here. Light stake, no heroics.

BEST BET
Tip: SHARKS +1.5
Odds: $1.85
Confidence
5/10
Opportunity: The +1.5 means a draw gets us paid. Given the Raiders are scoring 13 points a game and the Sharks have the better defensive structure, Cronulla staying within a point of Canberra feels very achievable – even on the road in late-March conditions.

→ Full Raiders vs Sharks Prediction

Gold Coast Titans vs St George Illawarra Dragons

The wooden spoon preview. Power Rank #17 vs #16. Both sides in negative differential, both defences leaking 32+ per game. 45% confidence and a one-point predicted margin – this is genuinely the most uncertain game on the card. The Titans get the nod for home ground and Jayden Campbell’s return at halfback, nothing more.

BEST BET
TITANS vs DRAGONS • CBUS SUPER STADIUM
Tip: TITANS H2H
Odds: $1.87
Confidence
4/10
Opportunity: The Titans -0.5 at $1.85 is available but I’d take the H2H here – two sides conceding 32+ per game can absolutely draw, and a draw loses on the -0.5. The Dragons are 0-5 and showing no signs of fixing their defence. H2H only, very light stake.
