TeamBet Review | The Bookie With Personality. But What’s Under the Hood?

TeamBet might have the most personality of any bookmaker in Australia right now. The branding is all mateship, banter, weekend multis, and bragging rights. It’s refreshing in a market full of corporate-speak, and it’s clearly aimed at the casual punter who bets with a group of mates on a Saturday afternoon.

But branding only gets you so far. The real question is whether TeamBet has the product to back up the personality.

We’re still early days in getting to know TeamBet, and a more in-depth review is coming. But we’ve been testing the TeamBet app and here’s what we’ve found so far.

TeamBet Sign Up

Standard process. Personal details, ID verification, deposit limit. Nothing unusual.

If you’re signing up, use the referral code KRUZEY during registration.

Quick and painless. One reviewer did mention being asked for additional verification documents, but that’s a regulatory requirement all Australian bookmakers have to manage.

AFL & Sports Markets

TeamBet covers the major codes. AFL, NRL, NBA, NFL, EPL, MLB, NHL, and more. For an AFL punter, the markets are there and Same Game Multi is available.

Same Race Multi is also available for racing, which rounds out the multi options nicely.

The gaps? No cash out. No bet builder. No live betting. No live streaming. That’s a familiar list if you’ve been reading our other reviews of smaller bookmakers. For a casual punter who mainly wants to throw on some weekend multis, it’ll do the job. For anyone who needs more advanced features, you’ll notice the absences.

Racing

TeamBet covers all Australian and international racing across thoroughbreds, greyhounds, and harness. The markets are there, but there’s no form guide built into the app. You’ll need to do your form work elsewhere and come back to TeamBet to place the bet. That’s a gap compared to operators like NextBet (Easy Form, Live Yard) or CrownBet (RACELAB).

Boosted Opinion Betting is an interesting feature. TeamBet puts their opinion on key runners each week with boosted prices. It’s the team backing their own form analysis publicly, which fits the brand’s personality and gives casual punters something to follow if they don’t want to do deep form work themselves.

The TeamBet App

The TeamBet app is available on iOS and Android:

  • iOS: 4.2 out of 5 (31 ratings)

Still a small sample size at 31 ratings, but 4.2 is a solid start. The app is lightweight at 52MB and the interface is clean.

The Bookie Bag feature is mentioned as a personalised experience, though the details on exactly what that means in practice are a bit vague. We’ll dig into that more in our full review.

No biometric login and no Blackbook. Standard omissions for newer operators, but still worth noting.

Customer Support

TeamBet advertises 24/7 Aussie support with real people, which is a strong claim for a newer bookmaker. Live chat is available through the app.

User feedback on support is split. Some reviewers are genuinely impressed:

“Hands down the customer service is next level.”

“The Livechat team are also incredibly helpful!”

Others had a very different experience:

“Live chat slowest I’ve ever experienced, withdrawal times inconsistent.”

The truth is probably somewhere in the middle. Support quality at newer bookmakers can be inconsistent as they scale up, and TeamBet is still early in that journey.

What Other Punters Are Saying

The reviews lean positive overall, with a 4.1 average across iOS. Punters generally like the ease of use and the customer service when it’s working well.

The negative feedback focuses on withdrawal times being inconsistent and verification friction. One reviewer also questioned the authenticity of some positive reviews, which is worth acknowledging but impossible for us to verify either way.

Fast payouts are advertised as at least twice daily via Osko, and several reviewers confirm their withdrawals arrive within an hour or so. That’s a decent turnaround for a smaller operator.

Who’s Behind TeamBet?

TeamBet Pty Ltd operates the brand, with licensing running through Betfocus Pty Ltd. If you’ve read our BetFocus review, that connection is worth noting. It means TeamBet is leveraging existing licensing infrastructure rather than holding its own standalone licence.

That’s not uncommon for newer operators, and it doesn’t affect your experience as a punter. But it does tell you something about where TeamBet is in its journey as a business.

Who Is TeamBet Best For?

  • AFL and NRL punters who mainly bet multis on the weekend
  • Casual punters who want a no-fuss app with a bit of personality
  • Punters who like guided tips via the Boosted Opinion Betting feature

Not the pick if you need cash out, live betting, a form guide, or advanced sports features.

The Bottom Line

TeamBet has personality, and that counts for something in a crowded market. The mateship branding is refreshing, SGM and SRM are both available, and the Boosted Opinion Betting feature gives casual punters something to follow.

The platform still has work to do. No cash out, no form guide, no live betting, and a feature set that’s still catching up to the big operators. But for casual weekend punters who want a straightforward app with some Aussie character, TeamBet is worth a look.

Use the referral code KRUZEY when you sign up. We’ll have a more comprehensive review up once we’ve spent more time with the platform.

Won't win any feature wars, but it's got more character than most bookmakers combined. A good option for casual weekend punters who don't need every bell and whistle
