Big fields and a card with real range at Warrnambool, 1000m out to 2000m, run on a Good 4 with the rail out 3m and next to no rain in the forecast, so nobody gets to blame the ground. Ciaron Maher’s Black Aces caught the eye early in race 2, backed from $8.50 into $4, and money for that yard is always worth noting. Icy Pole is one we like the look of in race 6, resuming for Matthew Williams and firmed from $8 into $4.40, while Salaria also comes back from a spell in race 8 and is worth another look for Alexander Rae. Girl With A Pearl has been well supported in race 3, though there isn’t a lot of recent form to go on, so we’ll want to see the market hold. Selections drop here around 10am race morning once the markets firm.
