Horse Racing Tips

I’ve been on the punt for over 15 years and most of it was learning the hard way. KRUZEY is an Australian horse racing tips site I started because I got sick of paying for tips that were either obvious favourites or wild roughies with no thinking behind them. Every tip on this site is free, written by me, with the reasoning sitting underneath every call. Race-by-race tips on every metropolitan and Group 1 meeting in Australia, every day they run. Pick a track below for today’s card.

Saturday metro racing in Australia

Saturdays are the day Australian racing comes alive. Every state runs at the metropolitan level: Flemington or Caulfield in Melbourne, Randwick or Rosehill in Sydney, Eagle Farm or Doomben in Brisbane, Morphettville in Adelaide, and Ascot or Belmont in Perth. Most of the Australian Group 1 calendar lands on a Saturday: the Melbourne Cup Carnival in spring, the Sydney Autumn Carnival in March and April, the Brisbane Winter Carnival in May and June, and Group 1 fixtures across the metros all year. KRUZEY runs a card on every Saturday metro plus the headline provincial when there’s a feature race on, finalised by 09:45 AEST after the morning track condition and weather read.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is the best horse racing tipster in Australia? +

There’s no single best Australian horse racing tipster. The ones worth following share three things: they cover every metropolitan and Group 1 meeting daily, they publish a written reason on every selection (so you can read why before you back it), and they back themselves on price by calling a win bet at the price they think it’s worth, not hedging into each-way on every roughie. Look for those three before paying anyone, and remember there are free tipsters who do all of it.

What is the 80/20 rule in horse racing? +

The 80/20 rule in horse racing is a staking framework where you place 80% of your stake on the horse to place and 20% on the same horse to win. It’s used on short priced favourites where the place return is bankable and the win price is too short to back straight out. It lowers variance but caps upside. It’s one staking approach among many, and not how KRUZEY frames tips. We call a horse at a price, win bet or each-way, with the reasoning under the call.

How do you pick a winner at horse racing in Australia? +

Picking a winner starts with the form lines in race context, not just the placings. Look at how the horse performed against runners it’s meeting again today, the track condition on the day and the horse’s record at that going, the jockey and trainer strike rate, and the weight and barrier. Then check the market. The best value sits where the form lines disagree with the price.

Is there a trick to winning horse races? +

No, there’s no trick to winning horse races consistently. The punters who come out ahead over time stick to a few simple disciplines: they only back selections with a written reason, they vary stake by confidence, and they walk away when the value isn’t there. Following a daily tipping service that does this work for you is a head start; it isn’t a guarantee.
