Entain, the Ladbrokes and Neds owner, has been crowned Socially Responsible Operator of the Year at the 2022 SBC Awards. The global betting giant was lauded by the panel of judges for being the industry leader in “safer betting and gaming programmes.” The judges also commended the operator for its “commitments to ESG and sustainability.”

Interestingly, the SBC award was given to Entain on the same day the entertainment group launched the 12 Principles of Responsibility together with other major betting providers operating on the US market, such as BetMGM and DraftKings.

The Latest in a Series of Awards

Entain said that being named 2022 Socially Responsible Operator was “further recognition” of the group’s commitment to safer gaming and betting. Entain was also crowned at the EGR awards where it was named North America’s Safer Gambling Provider and Operator of the Year.

The Ladbrokes owner also obtained GamCare’s Advanced Safer Gambling Standard recognition and is a member of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index and FTSE4Good.

Protecting Customers – at the Heart of Entain’s Strategy

Entain’s Chief Governance Officer, Robert Hoskin, said the group was proud that its efforts in the areas of responsible betting and sustainability were recognized. Entain’s CGO added that it was the group’s responsibility to do what was right for bettors and that customer protection was “at the heart” of Entain’s strategy and the way the group operated.

Hoskin promised that Entain would continue to be the industry leader when it came to setting “the highest standards of social responsibility.”

Entain has scheduled its second ESG conference of the year called Entain: Sustain for 19 October. In it, the betting giant will inform the public about all of the group’s ESG achievements and provide updates on its sustainability strategy.
