HavaBet Review | Betting Ring Veterans Go Online. How’s It Going?
Every now and then a bookmaker pops up claiming on-track heritage, and you have to check whether the product matches the pedigree. HavaBet is one of those. They’ve come out of the betting rings of Victoria and New South Wales with a reputation built on the rails, and they’re now trying to make that work as an online platform.
The pitch sounds good on paper. Competitive pricing, racing-focused product, instant withdrawals. The online product is still catching up to the ambition, but they’re building.
We’re still early days in getting to know HavaBet, and a more in-depth review is coming. But we’ve spent some time with the HavaBet app and dug into what’s actually on offer. Here’s the honest take so far.
HavaBet Sign Up
Standard process. Personal details, ID verification, deposit limit. If you’ve signed up with any Australian bookmaker before, you know the drill.
If you’re signing up, use the referral code KRUZEY during registration.
Nothing complicated here. Get in, get verified, set your limit.
Racing Markets
HavaBet positions racing as its core product, which makes sense given the on-track background. They cover thoroughbreds, harness, and greyhounds.
Same Race Multi is available, letting you pick the finishing positions of multiple runners in the top 4 and lock in a price before the jump.
Here’s where it gets thin though. There’s no form guide built into the app yet. For a bookmaker that’s marketing itself on racing heritage, that’s a surprising gap. You’ll need to do your form analysis elsewhere and come back to HavaBet to place the bet. Compare that to something like CrownBet’s RACELAB, which has form, speed maps, and market movers all built in. Adding form tools would be an obvious next step for HavaBet given their racing DNA.
Sports Betting
HavaBet covers a range of sports with Same Game Multi available across various leagues. They also list OneFC as a market, which is a niche offering you won’t find everywhere.
Beyond that, the sports product is bare bones. No cash out. No bet builder. No live streaming. No live betting. That’s a lot of missing features for anyone who takes their sports betting seriously.
If you’re a racing punter who throws a few sports bets on the side, it’ll do. If sports is your main game, there are far more complete options out there.
The HavaBet App
The HavaBet app is still early in its development, and the ratings reflect that:
- iOS: 2.8 out of 5 (22 ratings)
- Android: Too new to rate (effectively no data yet)
A 2.8 on iOS is below the industry average, where most bookmakers sit between 4.0 and 4.7. But with only 22 ratings and the app still on version 1.0.4, there’s plenty of room for that score to shift as updates roll out.
There’s no biometric login and no Blackbook yet. The bones are there, and the app functions, but it needs some development love to catch up to the competition.
Customer Support
This is an area that needs work. We couldn’t find clearly listed support contact details on the website, and some user reviews have flagged issues with the customer service experience.
To be fair, every bookmaker gets negative reviews, and small operators cop it harder because every bad experience makes up a bigger share of their total feedback. But customer service is something HavaBet will need to tighten up as they grow the online platform. The on-track world runs on personal relationships, and translating that to live chat and email is a different challenge.
What Other Punters Are Saying
HavaBet has a small number of reviews across both app stores. It’s a mixed bag, which isn’t unusual for a newer operator still finding its feet.
On the positive side:
“Good company, look after loyal clients where they can. Worth a go!”
Some of the negative feedback focuses on customer service:
“The customer services reps through live chat don’t even answer your questions or assist you when needed, it’s like they get annoyed when they have to do their job.”
There’s also a review alleging payout issues, which we can’t verify and there may be more to the story. But it’s worth being aware of. As with any newer bookmaker, doing your homework before depositing is always a good idea.
Who’s Behind HavaBet?
HavaBet is operated by HavaBet Pty Ltd and holds a VGCCC licence (Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission). They’re an Australian owned operator with genuine roots in on-track bookmaking across Victoria and New South Wales.
The on-track credentials are real. The transition from rails to online is a different game, and they’re still in the early stages of building out the digital product. But the foundation and the industry knowledge are there.
Who Is HavaBet Best For?
Right now, HavaBet is best suited to punters who already know the team from the track and want to extend that relationship online. If you value that personal, independent bookmaker experience and you’re mainly focused on racing, there’s something there.
For punters who need a fully featured app with form tools, cash out, and streaming, you’ll probably want to look elsewhere while HavaBet continues to build out the platform.
The Bottom Line
HavaBet is a genuine on-track bookmaker making the move to digital, and that transition takes time. The racing focus is clear, they’re VGCCC licensed, and the foundations are there. The app and feature set need to catch up, and customer service is an area to work on, but every bookmaker has to start somewhere.
We’ll be keeping an eye on how HavaBet develops. If they can bring the same personalised service they’re known for on-track into the online experience, and invest in the app and racing tools, they could carve out a decent spot in the market.
If you want to try them, use the referral code KRUZEY when you sign up. We’ll update this review as the platform evolves.
