Titans vs Sharks Prediction

Ben Harris
Updated 24 August 2026

Two straight losses have knocked the Sharks out of the top four for now, and the market has still pushed them out to seven and a half against a Titans side playing for pride. I think that number is short.

The Last Time These Two Met On The Gold Coast The Titans Did Not Score A Point. The Sharks Have Lost Two Straight, And I Still Have Them Winning This Comfortably.

Everyone will look at Cronulla’s last fortnight and decide they are there to be beaten. I have looked at what the Titans would actually have to do to beat them, and I cannot make it add up.

Team news, and what it changes

Cronulla’s side is the one that moved. Addin Fonua-Blake is back in the pack after suspension, and Niwhai Puru is named in the halves alongside Nicho Hynes. He played three games at halfback earlier in the season when Nicho Hynes was out with a calf problem, so this is not a rookie thrown in cold, and Nicho Hynes steers it either way. There is nothing on the Gold Coast side that changes my read. The side Cronulla have named is a better one than the side that lost last week.

The Titans cannot score their way into this

Gold Coast are the lowest scoring side of these two by a distance, and that is the whole game. A team that struggles to post points has to win ugly, in the forties, off the back of a mistake riddled opponent. Cronulla are not that opponent. Take away the Titans’ ability to score and both the margin and the total look after themselves.

Two losses have not made Cronulla a worse side

This is the part I have to answer, because it is the first thing you will look at. The Sharks have been beaten twice and it has cost them a top four spot for now, but last week they went down 24-20 to the Raiders after losing Braydon Trindall early to a shoulder injury. Losing a close one a man down is not the same as being found out.

This fixture has been one way traffic

The Titans have won one of the last six meetings and that was at Coffs Harbour, not here. Home ground has not been worth anything to Gold Coast in this matchup, and I am not paying for it now.

The under is the same read, not a second one

The two most recent meetings both blew past fifty points, so I am not going to pretend there is no version of Sunday where Cronulla go on with it. Here is why I am on it anyway. The total only needs one half of the scoreboard to stay quiet, and that is the Gold Coast half. I have got this 33-12, which is Cronulla having a good day and the total still getting home with room to spare. The only thing that beats it is Gold Coast having a night out, and I am not paying for that.

Titans vs Sharks Tip

Sharks to win by around twenty, because Gold Coast do not score enough to stay in touch for eighty minutes.

Titans vs Sharks Key Stats

POINTS FOR
GLD20

CRO29

Gold Coast have to be in front to be any good. Once they are two scores down there is no gear to shift into, and that is when these games get away from them.
POINTS AGAINST
GLD27

CRO21

Cronulla do not hand out cheap points. Everything scored against them has to be built over a run of sets, and building is the part Gold Coast are worst at.
KICK RETURN METRES
GLD138

CRO187

Cronulla start their sets a long way further up the field, so Gold Coast spend the night defending their own end and kicking out of it. Field position is how this turns into a twenty point game.

Ben’s Verdict

I am on the Sharks and I am happy giving up the seven and a half. Two losses have not turned a top five side into a bad one, and nothing about the way the Titans play keeps them inside two scores. The line and the under are not two bets pulling against each other, they are the same read from both ends of the scoreboard. If you only want one of them, take the line.

Player Prop Predictions

William Kennedy to score a try, $2.70. William Kennedy got over last start, and that is a try in four of his last seven. Cronulla piling on twenty points of margin gives him the ball in space, and $2.70 is fair for a bloke finding the line that often.

Phillip Sami to score a try, $1.94. Phillip Sami scores in bunches, with a three and a two sitting inside his last seven games. Gold Coast will be chasing the whole way and chasing sides throw it wide, so he only needs the one to pay at $1.94.

Jayden Campbell to score a try, $3.00. Jayden Campbell crossed last start, his third try scoring game in seven. Gold Coast may not stay in touch, but they will still put a set together somewhere, and $3.00 is a proper price on a bloke who keeps turning up on the end of them.

Sione Katoa to score a try, $1.79. Sione Katoa has hit the market in five of his last seven, and there is a three and a two in that run. A Cronulla win by twenty is exactly the game he cashes in, which is why $1.79 is the steady leg here.

Gold Coast Titans vs Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks FAQs

Who will win Titans vs Sharks?

The Sharks. I have them winning by around twenty points at Cbus Super Stadium. Cronulla sit fifth and have dropped two straight, and the market has moved on that. I have not.

What is the best bet for Titans vs Sharks?

My headline multi at $6.53 rolls the line and total in with a player prop, Sione Katoa Anytime Try. On its own, Sharks -7.5 at $1.90 is the anchor.

Will Titans vs Sharks go over 49.5 points?

I do not think so. Gold Coast are the side that goes quiet, and the total does not need Cronulla to be quiet as well. They can post thirty and this still gets home under.

What is the predicted score for Titans vs Sharks?

33-12 Cronulla. That is where the margin and the total meet, and it is the scoreline the whole bet is built on.

Who is Gold Coast Titans playing next week?
