Titans vs Cowboys Prediction

Ben Harris
Updated 10 August 2026

Two sides got embarrassed last Saturday, and tonight one of them gets to feel better about itself. I have the Cowboys doing that to the Titans. The winner is not the bet though. The total is.

The Last Three Meetings At Cbus Were All Decided By Single Figures. The Cowboys Win This One Without Covering.

Round 22 did nobody here any favours. Both these sides were beaten by a combined 124-18, and the temptation is to price this one off those two scorelines. I am not doing that, but I am not waving them away either. Both those nights are already sitting inside the season numbers on this page, and those numbers still have neither of these teams scoring.

The winner is the easy part. The money is in how few points this game produces.

This fixture stays tight on the Gold Coast

The last three times these two met at Cbus the game was decided by six points, then two, then nine. The Titans won two of those. I will be straight about the size of this one: my margin sits half a point inside the line, so this is not the bookies getting the game wrong, it is a fixture that keeps finishing close and me preferring to hold the points when it does.

The Cowboys have September to chase

North Queensland sit ninth, Gold Coast sit fourteenth, and every game the Cowboys have left comes against a side below them on the ladder. That is a run you do not open with a flat night on the Gold Coast, and it is why I have them winning. It is not why I am betting. At $1.58 you are paying up for a result I already expect, and there is better value on this page than that.

The lists are in and neither one speeds this up

Both sides come in changed. Lachlan Ilias takes over at halfback for the Titans with Zane Harrison out for the rest of the season, and the Cowboys lose Jeremiah Nanai to a hamstring while Griffin Neame comes back from suspension.

None of that reads like a game that opens up. A halfback taking over a side this deep into a season plays the percentages, not the highlight reel, and Griffin Neame walking back into a Cowboys middle that already wants to grind pushes the same way. If the lists moved me at all, they moved me further onto the under.

Where the points come from

The Titans shipped 42 at home last week and the Cowboys shipped 82. I am not pretending those nights did not happen, they are in the season numbers, I just do not think either is the template for what happens at Cbus.

Neither of these sides forces the pace when a game is even. Both hand the ball back too cheaply to build the sort of pressure that turns into a scoreboard, and this fixture at this ground turns into an arm wrestle more often than it does not. I am not miles away from the bookies on the total and I do not need to be. The under 48.5 at $1.85 is the bet.

Titans vs Cowboys Tip

I have the Cowboys by four, better through the middle and with a lot more riding on the result. That is the result I expect, not the bet I am having.

Titans vs Cowboys Key Stats

POINTS FOR
GLD20

NQL23

Neither of these attacks has forced the pace all season, and that is the floor the under is built on. It is not a mile off the line and it does not have to be.
ERRORS
GLD13

NQL12

Both sides have handed the ball back too cheaply all year, and a night full of turnovers kills field position and stalls long before it turns into a shootout.
OFFLOADS
GLD11

NQL9

The Titans keep the ball alive after contact, and at home that is how they hang in a game rather than get run over. That is the argument for holding the +4.5, not a reason to expect points.

Ben’s Verdict

The Cowboys have the reason to be here and the class through the middle, so I have them winning, just not by a distance. If you would rather bet the margin than the total, the Titans at +4.5 is the one, because this fixture on the Gold Coast keeps finishing inside single figures.

The Warriors game last week was a flogging, and if that version of the Titans turns up the points are no use to anybody. I do not think it does. I am on the under.

Player Prop Predictions

Braidon Burns to score a try, $1.80. Back on the scoresheet last start and there are two doubles sitting in that same run, so he does not just nibble when he gets going. Three of his last six with a try and the Cowboys look the side doing most of the scoring tonight.

Phillip Sami to score a try, $2.00. A try in four of his last seven, and one of those was a hat trick, so this is a bloke who finds the line often enough to build a multi around. At $2.00 he is the steady one on the page and I am happy for him to carry it.

Jayden Campbell to score a try, $2.75. He goes over in ones rather than bunches, never more than a single in any of his last seven, but he got there in three of them. Titans will be chasing the game and that usually means more ball in his hands, which is worth $2.75.

Arama Hau to score a try, $3.80. Crossed last start to snap four quiet weeks, and that is normally the run that keeps a price honest. Three tries from his last seven games at $3.80 is the one I would be taking a swing at.

Gold Coast Titans vs North Queensland Cowboys FAQs

Who will win Titans vs Cowboys?

I have the Cowboys winning tonight at Cbus Super Stadium, though not by much. They are the better side through the middle and they have far more riding on the night. At $1.58 I am not backing it, I am betting the total instead.

What is the best bet in Titans vs Cowboys?

My headline multi at $5.85 takes the straight win with the total and a player prop, Phillip Sami Anytime Try. The win leg anchors it this week; the line bet on the card still stands as its own play.

Will Titans vs Cowboys be a high scoring game?

I do not think so. What these two are scoring this season adds up to the low forties, not the high forties the market has posted, and this fixture on the Gold Coast has been an arm wrestle every time lately.

Who is Gold Coast Titans playing next week?

The Titans play the Knights - at McDonald Jones Stadium on Sunday 16 August in NRL Round 24.

Who is North Queensland Cowboys playing next week?

The Cowboys play the Eels - at CommBank Stadium on Saturday 15 August in NRL Round 24.
