Eels vs Sharks Prediction
This is the game where I disagree with the bookies…

Nobody wants to touch the Tigers right now, and I get it, because five straight losses will do that. But they have owned the Eels lately, I make this one dead even, and the bookies are handing the Tigers more than a try’s head start that I’m happy to take.

Two poor sides, sure. But they are one ladder spot apart and the market has them seven and a half points apart.
That gap is the whole play. Teams this close on the table stay in each other’s pockets far more often than they blow out.
Five losses on the trot, some of them ugly, and I am not pretending otherwise. What keeps me on the Tigers is the head to head: they have beaten these Eels the last two times, including a golden point epic on Easter Monday, and both at this ground. Adam Doueihi is back at halfback to steer them, and Parramatta are just as beaten up.
This is two sides going nowhere, separated by one spot on the ladder. Games like that stay close and scrappy far more often than they run away. The Eels arrive without much more firepower, so I want the Tigers and the 7.5, and the outright at the price is the swing worth a small crack.
Neither of these attacks scares anyone, and Parramatta come in missing a stack of bodies. The under 49.5 is the tightest leg on the card, but two limited sides trading arm wrestle footy through the middle is exactly the sort of game that creeps under rather than races over.
I’ve got the Tigers to edge this at home, so the real value is the 7.5 they should never be getting with only a ladder spot between these two.
Give me the Tigers and the 7.5 as the anchor, back the under, and if you want the sting, the Tigers outright at $2.85 is the overlay. The risk is obvious, because a side losing by 40 one week can do it again, so keep the outright small and let the line do the heavy lifting.

| Our Tip | Tigers Multi: Win + Under 49.5 @ $5.44 |
| Predicted Score | Wests Tigers 25 – Parramatta Eels 24 |
I’m tipping the Tigers, just. I’ll take the home side at CommBank, where they have beaten the Eels the last two meetings. Expect it close.
My best bet is the Tigers multi at $5.44: Win and the under 49.5. That is the featured tip at the top of this page and matches the selections sent to our partner bookmakers.
I’m leaning under, but it is the tightest leg. Neither side scores freely and Parramatta are missing bodies, so I expect a low, scrappy game around 49 points total.
The Wests Tigers have the bye in NRL Round 23. They return in Round 24 to host the Dragons at CommBank Stadium on Sunday 16 August.
The Eels travel to face the Rabbitohs at Allianz Stadium on Saturday 8 August in NRL Round 23.
