Eels vs Sharks Prediction
This is the game where I disagree with the bookies…

This is the game of the round for stakes. The Panthers are chasing a minor premiership and the Bulldogs are chasing a finals spot, and only one of these sides has been winning games like this. I am with Penrith to cover the handicap.

Penrith are level on competition points at the top of the ladder with two rounds to play. Canterbury are two points outside the eight. Nobody in this one is coasting.
That should make it close. It probably will not. Penrith have won the last six meetings between these two, and most of them were not close.
The bookies have this at a converted try and a bit. I make it double that, because nobody in the competition defends like the Panthers do. Canterbury have to be close to perfect for eighty minutes to stay inside that number, and close to perfect is not where they have been.
The risk is motivation. Canterbury are playing for their season and Penrith have already banked a top four finish, so a flat Friday night in western Sydney is not impossible.
But class wins in the last month of a season. Back Penrith to cover and expect the Bulldogs to run out of ideas somewhere in the second half.
Panthers by fifteen at CommBank Stadium, because Penrith’s defence has been the best in the competition.
The shortest total line of the round tells you what everyone expects here, and I am with the market on that part. This is a night where Penrith squeeze the life out of Canterbury and the scoreboard never really gets going.

| Our Tip | Panthers Multi: Line + Under 40.5 @ $3.55 |
| Predicted Score | Penrith Panthers 27 – Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs 12 |
The Panthers. I have Penrith winning by fifteen at CommBank Stadium, and they are into $1.33 in the head to head market.
My best bet is the Panthers multi at $3.55: the line and the under 40.5. That is the featured tip at the top of this page.
They can. Canterbury sit two competition points outside the eight with two rounds to play, so winning both keeps them alive. They will also need results elsewhere to fall their way.
The Panthers play the Wests Tigers at CommBank Stadium on Sunday 6 September in NRL Round 27.
The Bulldogs play the Broncos at Accor Stadium on Thursday 3 September in NRL Round 27.
