NRL Betting Tips & Predictions Round 7

Ben Harris
14 April 2026

The ladder is starting to take shape – and it’s not the shape most of us expected.

Penrith and the Tigers are sitting equal first on 10 points. Let that sink in. The Bulldogs just ended the Panthers’ unbeaten run, the Warriors smashed Melbourne to end a 17-game hoodoo, and the Dragons are 0-6 with no light at the end of the tunnel. Eight games this week – Sharks on the bye – Thursday through Sunday. Here’s where the model likes the money.

Thursday, April 16

North Queensland Cowboys vs Manly Sea Eagles

The Cowboys are humming – four wins from five including that epic 35-31 Friday night shootout against Brisbane last round. Manly are 1-4 in their last five and shipping 33.6 points a game. The model has North Queensland winning by 11, well beyond the 4.5-point line. Thursday night in Townsville against a side flying to the tropics on a short turnaround? That’s a tough ask for the Sea Eagles.

BEST BET
COWBOYS vs SEA EAGLES • QLD COUNTRY BANK STADIUM
Tip: COWBOYS -4.5
Odds: $1.90
Confidence
6/10
Opportunity: Near even money on the home side with a 6.5-point gap between our model and the market line. The Cowboys’ attack is averaging 28.2 per game and Manly are conceding nearly 34. Tom Trbojevic can always produce a moment, but the form and travel favour North Queensland comfortably.

Friday, April 17

Canberra Raiders vs Melbourne Storm

Two sides on identical 1-4 runs, but the quality gap is significant. Melbourne are ranked 3rd in our power rankings despite the recent slump – Penrith put 50 on them, then the Warriors hung 38. The Raiders can barely score at 17.2 per game. The market has the Storm as narrow -1.5 favourites, but our model says 7. Craig Bellamy’s sides don’t lose three in a row without a response.

BEST BET
RAIDERS vs STORM • GIO STADIUM
Tip: STORM -1.5
Odds: $1.81
Confidence
6/10
Opportunity: The line is tiny for a side ranked 8 spots higher. Melbourne’s talent – Hughes, Munster, Grant – is too good to stay down for long. Canberra’s attack has dried up at 17.2 per game and they’re shipping over 30. This is the Storm’s bounce-back game.

Dolphins vs Penrith Panthers

The Panthers lost for the first time this season – Canterbury ending their unbeaten run 32-16 on Nathan Cleary’s 200th game. History says a wounded Penrith side is the most dangerous version. The Dolphins are coming off a bye and sit 8th in our power rankings, but Penrith’s numbers are absurd: 36 points scored, 14.4 conceded, +21.6 differential. The Panthers should win, but the model says by 11 – well short of the 14.5-point line.

VALUE BET
Tip: DOLPHINS +14.5
Odds: $1.90
Confidence
7/10
Opportunity: You’re not betting against Penrith – you’re betting Wayne Bennett keeps it respectable at Suncorp. The Dolphins are averaging 30 points a game and don’t get blown off the park at home. Our model has this as an 11-point game, giving you 3.5 points of cushion on the cover. Panthers win, Dolphins cover.

Saturday, April 18

New Zealand Warriors vs Gold Coast Titans

Our highest-confidence pick of the round at 78%. The Warriors are flying after ending a 17-game losing streak against Melbourne with a 38-14 thumping. The Titans put 52 on the Eels last week – but that’s the Eels. Gold Coast are ranked dead last at #16 and travelling to Auckland against a side brimming with confidence. The model and market agree on a 12-point margin.

BEST BET
WARRIORS vs TITANS • GO MEDIA STADIUM
Tip: WARRIORS -11.5
Odds: $1.90
Confidence
8/10
Opportunity: The power ranking gap is massive – #6 vs #16. The Warriors are scoring 30.4 per game and Sunia Turuva is on fire after his hat-trick against the Storm. The Titans’ win over the Eels was flattrack bullying – this is a different level entirely. Fair odds rather than overs, but it’s our strongest pick of the week.

South Sydney Rabbitohs vs St George Illawarra Dragons

The Dragons are 0-6. They’re averaging 14.4 points, conceding 31.6, and sitting at a -17.2 differential. Every week I look for a reason to back them and every week the numbers say no. The Rabbitohs are attacking at 28.8 per game with Latrell Mitchell in strong form. Our model has Souths winning by 16, comfortably beyond the 13.5-point line.

BEST BET
RABBITOHS vs DRAGONS • ACCOR STADIUM
Tip: RABBITOHS -13.5
Odds: $1.90
Confidence
7/10
Opportunity: At some point we have to stop waiting for the Dragons to turn it around. 0-6 with 14.4 points per game isn’t a slump – it’s a crisis. Souths’ attack should feast on the worst defence in the comp. The only risk is Rabbitohs complacency after letting the Raiders back into a 36-34 thriller last round.

Wests Tigers vs Brisbane Broncos

The game of the round for mine. The Tigers are equal first and have won four of five – but the model only has them winning by 2 while the market says 6.5. Brisbane are ranked 5th in our power rankings and coming off a heartbreaking loss to the Cowboys. The talent gap says Broncos, the form says Tigers. When the model and market disagree this much, there’s value on the underdog line.

VALUE BET
TIGERS vs BRONCOS • CAMPBELLTOWN STADIUM
Tip: BRONCOS +6.5
Odds: $1.84
Confidence
4/10
Opportunity: The model says 2, the market says 6.5. That’s a 4.5-point gap in Brisbane’s favour. The Broncos are ranked five spots higher and have the roster to stay within a try of anyone. Campbelltown will be electric, but at 42% confidence this is a light-stakes play – don’t go heavy, just take the value the line is giving you.

Sunday, April 19

Sydney Roosters vs Newcastle Knights

Here’s one that’ll make you scratch your head. The Roosters are ranked #2 in our power rankings but have a -4.6 point differential. The Knights are ranked #14 but have actually outscored and out-defended the Roosters over their last five. The model has the Roosters winning by just 4 – the market has them at -10.5. That’s a huge gap and it screams value on Newcastle.

VALUE BET
ROOSTERS vs KNIGHTS • SYDNEY CRICKET GROUND
Tip: KNIGHTS +10.5
Odds: $1.83
Confidence
7/10
Opportunity: The Roosters should win, but 10.5 points against a Knights side that’s won four from six this season is generous. Our model has this as a 4-point game – you’re getting more than two converted tries of insurance. Newcastle will be stinging after the Tigers thumped them last week and have the competitive pride to keep this respectable at the SCG.

Parramatta Eels vs Canterbury Bulldogs

Canterbury are riding the wave after ending Penrith’s perfect start with a 32-16 statement win. Parramatta are in freefall – conceding 38.8 points a game over their last five. That’s nearly 40 a game. The Bulldogs’ defence is elite at 19.2 conceded, and the model has them winning by 15. The line is -10.5. One of the more straightforward bets on the card.

BEST BET
EELS vs BULLDOGS • COMMBANK STADIUM
Tip: BULLDOGS -10.5
Odds: $1.90
Confidence
6/10
Opportunity: The Bulldogs are buzzing after toppling Penrith and face a side shipping nearly 40 points a game. Matt Burton was clinical against the Panthers – seven from seven with the boot. The model has Canterbury winning by 15, giving you 4.5 points of cover beyond the line. Hard to see the Eels staying in this.
