Eels vs Sharks Prediction

Ben Harris
Updated 26 August 2026

This is the game where I disagree with the bookies most this week. The Sharks are laying only 5.5 points against an Eels side that has been leaking points all season, and I think that number should be a great deal bigger.

Sharks Are Only Laying 5.5 Points Here. This Is The Biggest Gap Between My Number And The Market All Round.

The market has this at 5.5 points. I have it at more than three times that, which is the biggest gap between my number and the bookies’ number all round.

Cronulla are fifth and still have something to sort out at the top end of the eight. Parramatta are thirteenth and their season ended some time ago.

Nobody playing this round misses more tackles than Parramatta. Against a side as clinical as this one, that is not a small problem, it is the whole game.

The risk is history at this ground. These two met here in 2024 and Parramatta won it comfortably, so a big number is never free against a side with nothing left to lose.

Even so, the gap between these two right now is enormous. Back the Sharks to cover and expect the scoreboard to stay modest, because a one sided game is usually a quiet one.

Eels vs Sharks Tip

Sharks by twenty three at CommBank Stadium, because Parramatta cannot defend and Cronulla do not waste possession.

Parramatta’s scoring rate is why I am happy with the unders even in a game I expect to be one sided.

Ben’s Verdict

Five and a half points is a courtesy the market is extending to a side that has not earned it. This is the one game this week where a close finish would genuinely surprise me.

Who will win Eels vs Sharks?

The Sharks. I have Cronulla winning by twenty three at CommBank Stadium, and they are at $1.49 in the head to head market.

What is the best bet in Eels vs Sharks?

My best bet is the Sharks multi at $3.46: the line and the under 52.5. That is the featured tip at the top of this page.

Will the Sharks cover the 5.5 point line?

I think so, comfortably. Parramatta miss more tackles than any side playing this round and Cronulla are the most clinical team they will face, so 5.5 points is not much of a buffer.
