NRL North Queensland Cowboys vs Wests Tigers Match Prediction | Kruzey

Cowboys vs Tigers Prediction

Ben Harris
Updated 26 August 2026

The biggest line of the round sits on a Cowboys side clinging to eighth. The Tigers beat the Roosters last week and belted North Queensland earlier this year, so 12.5 points is a genuine ask, and the total is where I am happiest.

Cowboys Are Holding Eighth With Two Rounds To Play. Tigers Just Beat The Third Placed Roosters In Sydney.

North Queensland are eighth with two rounds left and everything to lose. They come off the bye, which should mean fresh legs and a clear head.

The Tigers arrive with nothing to lose and a scalp in their pocket. They beat the Roosters in Sydney last week, which is not something a side going through the motions manages.

So why the biggest line of the round? Because the Cowboys are at home, because Townsville is a long way from Sydney, and because the Tigers have won three away games all season.

The risk is obvious and it is recent. These two met earlier this year and the Tigers won it by plenty, so if that side turns up the handicap is gone inside twenty minutes.

The total is where I am most confident. Neither of these attacks has been reliable enough to drag a game past fifty points, and a big Cowboys win is the same story told louder.

Cowboys vs Tigers Tip

Cowboys by fifteen in Townsville, because North Queensland are playing for their season and the Tigers have been beaten heavily away from home too often this year.

Ben’s Verdict

A side holding eighth and coming off a week off, against a side already planning its summer, should not be a close game. The number is big, but so is the gap in what these two have left to play for.
