Eels vs Sharks Prediction
This is the game where I disagree with the bookies…

The Broncos are favourites. Forget that. The Cowboys went to Brisbane and beat this same side earlier in the year, and now they are home in the derby. Even without Tom Dearden we think North Queensland are too big, so we are on the home side both on the line and outright.

The market has the wrong favourite. The Cowboys went on the road and beat the Broncos this year. Home in Townsville they should be shorter than the visitors, not longer.
The Broncos wear favourite off one win, but the Cowboys already went to Brisbane and beat them this season. Do that on the road and you are the better side back at home, whatever the price says.
The Cowboys play a busier, ball in hand game than the Broncos. Keep the ball alive and you pull a tiring defence out of shape, and at home that is where they do their damage. That is the edge behind taking them with the points and straight up.
Straight up, the Cowboys are a halfback short this week. That is why we take the points as cover rather than laying anything ourselves. A hit, not a dealbreaker, at this price.
Neither of these attacks has been running riot lately, and both have been kept quiet more often than not in recent weeks. These two have gone big in Townsville before, but on current form we are with the under.
The Cowboys outright at $2.31, with the points at plus 4.5 to cover it. They have already got the Broncos’ measure once this season, and now they are at home.
Take the Cowboys at home, on the line at plus 4.5 and outright at $2.31. The risk is plain: they are a key man down and the Broncos are the market pick. But a side that already beat them in Brisbane, now back home, is worth more than the market has them.

The Cowboys. They beat the Broncos in Brisbane earlier this year, and now they get them at home in Townsville, so we will take North Queensland outright at $2.31.
The Cowboys with the points at plus 4.5 at $1.87, and the braver play is the outright at $2.31. They have already beaten this Broncos side away this season.
We do not think so. Neither attack has been at its best lately, so despite some big totals when these two have met before, we like the total to stay under 48.5.
