Seahawks vs Patriots Prediction

Ben Harris
8 September 2026

The Seahawks start their title defence against the same Patriots side they beat in February, and I make it a five point night for the champions. That is enough to have me on the right side of the line, and nowhere near enough to have me betting it.

Seven months after the Super Bowl, the Seahawks and Patriots open the season against each other. I have the Seahawks home by five, a shade more than the market is asking, and that shade is the whole story here.

Both of these sides went 14-3 last season, which is the sort of symmetry you almost never get in Week 1. The Patriots have had seven months to sit with the way that Super Bowl went, and an opener against the team that did it to them is either the best draw they could have asked for or the worst.

My numbers have the Seahawks winning 25-20, and the line has come back to 3 since Monday. That leaves me two points of daylight instead of a point and a half, which is still short of what I want in the opening week of a season.

The total tells the same story. I make it 45 against a market sitting at 44.5, and half a point is not a reason to get involved in a game where neither side has shown you anything yet.

The final report is in and there is not a lot in it. The Patriots have ruled out TreVeyon Henderson, which thins a running game they will want working early, while the Seahawks lose starting safety Ty Okada and carry Nick Emmanwori and Tory Horton as questionable. Seahawks.com has them down to one fully fit safety on the 53 and dipping into the practice squad for cover, and that secondary is the one place this gets away from them.

Seahawks vs Patriots Tip

Seahawks by five, which clears the line at 3, but not by enough for me to call it a bet.

Ben’s Verdict

The champions should win this and a line of 3 is not wide enough to push me off them. I would just want a good deal more than two points before I put money on it.

Player prop predictions

Drake Maye 250 or more passing yards, $2.20. Drake Maye put up 295 in his most recent outing and hit 250 or more in 14 of his last 21 games last season. A full year further into it, that volume should only get better, and $2.20 is a fair price for it.

A.J. Brown 60 or more receiving yards, $1.72. He’s gone past 60 receiving in 8 of his 16 games last season.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba anytime touchdown, $2.45. Jaxon Smith-Njigba scored in 10 of his last 20 games last season and twice went for two in a game. The Seahawks are my winners here by five, and $2.45 for him to get in the end zone is where I want to be.

The multi, $6.75. Seahawks to win at $1.59, Over 44.5 at $1.93 and Drake Maye 250+ Passing Yards at $2.20. Three legs, the prop being the one with the strongest record on the board.

The props I like
PROP   Drake Maye 250+ Passing Yards$2.20
PROP   A.J. Brown 60+ Receiving Yards$1.72
PROP   Jaxon Smith-Njigba Anytime TD$2.45
MULTI   Seahawks to win, Over 44.5 & Drake Maye 250+ Passing Yards$6.75
Player Props MultiDrake Maye 250+ Passing Yards, Jaxon Smith-Njigba Anytime TD & A.J. Brown 60+ Receiving Yards, my price $9.27

Seattle Seahawks vs New England Patriots FAQs

Who will win Seahawks vs Patriots?

I have the Seahawks by five. They handled the Patriots 29-13 in February and matched them at 14-3 through the regular season, so the order looks the same to me in Week 1. Nothing on the final injury report says to flip it.

Is there value on the Seahawks vs Patriots line?

Not enough of it. I make the margin five points against a line of 3, so the favourite is the side, but that gap of two points still sits under the three points I want in the opening weeks. Call it the right side without the price to match.

What’s the total for Seahawks vs Patriots?

I have 45 points in this one against a market total of 44.5. The overs is the right side of that on my numbers, but half a point of edge is not something you can bank on. I would leave it alone and wait for a week of form.

Does the Super Bowl rematch change how this game should be read?

It changes the mood more than the maths. The Seahawks won that meeting 29-13, but both teams finished the regular season at 14-3, so the gap between them is a good deal smaller than that scoreline makes it look.

Who are the Seattle Seahawks playing next week?

The Seahawks travel to play the Arizona Cardinals at State Farm Stadium on Monday 21 September (AEST) in NFL Week 2.

Who are the New England Patriots playing next week?

The Patriots host the Pittsburgh Steelers at Gillette Stadium on Monday 21 September (AEST) in NFL Week 2.
