Wyong Racecourse horse racing tips and form preview

Wyong Horse Racing Tips Sat 4/7/26

Eight races at Wyong and we found five worth a look, so there’s plenty going on without it being a scratchy card. The track’s a Soft 7 with fine weather overhead, so no dramas up top, just a bit of give in the ground. Koios in Race 5 is the one we keep coming back to at $6, drawn 2 in a 22-horse field where a lot of them will be fighting for the same run. We’re happy to take him on price and let the map sort out the rest.

Race 2
12:35pm · 1200m · Mdn Plate · 9 runners

10. Yeszem $5.00

Barrier 3 · Midfield · Soft pace

Blinkers go on for the first time, and that’s the hook. #10 Yeszem sits midfield from gate 3, Christian Reith aboard for Brad Widdup, and he’s been finding the line with a third and a second through his recent runs. The favourite is first-up off just one placing and looks short enough at $2.40. At $5, I’m on Yeszem.

Race 5Best Bet
2:20pm · 1350m · Hcp (Bm64) · 10 runners

2. Koios $6.00

Barrier 2 · Midfield · Genuine pace

Six bucks for a horse that’s won his last two? Yes please. #2 Koios draws the inside at gate 2 and settles midfield, so with genuine speed on he gets the tempo to run over the top of them late. The favourite has to do all the work in front from a wide gate at $3.30. I’m happy backing the one that’s in form at the bigger price.

Race 6Best Bet
3:00pm · 1200m · Hcp (Bm64) · 12 runners

9. Prinzerro $9.50

Barrier 8 · Pace · Genuine pace

The favourite’s no good to me at $3.10. #9 Prinzerro rolls forward from gate 8 with genuine speed on, while Written Scandal has to make its ground from midfield out wide. I’d rather be on the one making the running at $9.50 than taking cramped odds on one coming from behind. Take Prinzerro to win.

Race 7
3:35pm · 1000m · Hcp (Bm64) · 11 runners

1. Indecisive $5.50

Barrier 9 · Midfield · Genuine pace

#1 Indecisive keeps winning when he’s right, a couple of them either side of his let-ups. Genuine speed on suits him running over the top from midfield, and he maps into the same spot as the $3.50 favourite while paying $5.50. Gate 9 is the worry, I’m happy to wear it at that price.

Race 8
4:15pm · 1600m · Hcp (C1) · 11 runners

1. Call Me Mojo $3.30

Barrier 3 · Midfield · Genuine pace

Genuine tempo up front, and that sets #1 Call Me Mojo up to run them down from midfield. Gate 3, Rory Hutchings on, winkers helping him focus. He’s won a couple this prep and gets the race shape he wants. $3.30, have it.
