Five races at Warwick today, Heavy 8 with a wind to boot, where’s the value? We’ve found a tip in every race, but Mishani Renegade in the 3 is the one we like most, drawn the rail with no real leader to worry about. The going matters, the wind matters more, and in these small fields a good gate and a clean sit usually does it.

The favourite settles off the speed too, and with no genuine leader I don’t want to take odds-on on a horse with the same problem at a quarter of the price. #1 Weather has the blinkers going on, ran fourth last start, and gives us $8 from gate 8. The bad draw is the worry on a Heavy 8, but I’d rather have a swing at $8 than back the short one.

Genuine speed on, gate 5, blinkers on for #13 Toute Sweet, and she’s been knocking on the door with a couple of recent placings before her last run. The favourite has to make her own luck from gate 7 in the wet, and $2.35 is short enough for that job. I’d rather take $7 on the one drawn inside her with the gear change to sharpen her up. Each-way for me.
