Wangaratta Horse Racing Tips Sun 23/8/26
King Incanto in the 7 is the one that jumped out when we went through the card at Wangaratta. He’s drawn 11 and he’ll be back last, but there’s no obvious leader in that race, so the tempo should suit a horse coming from behind, and $6 on him looks worth a look. Soft 7 and fine overhead, so the ground is not doing anything strange to the form. We’ve got four we’re keen on across the eight races, including Lightning Flash in the Cup. No standout among them, just four we thought were priced a bit generously.

Same price as the favourite, and have a look at the draws. #7 Frosted Amber jumps from gate 6 in a field of 14, while #2 Cries And Whispers has to work across from 12. She’s third run back from a let-up, the lugging bit and nose roll are on to keep her honest, and Lachlan King stays aboard for Ben Brisbourne. At $4.60 I’d rather have her than the one doing all the extra work.

I’m on #14 Friendzoned at $4. The blinkers go on, Dylan Dunn stays, and with genuine speed up front she gets a proper tempo to chase from midfield. #9 Brutify has to cross from gate 8 to find the lead and is shorter for the trouble. Easy call.

Blinkers go on #10 King Incanto, who has run second four times this prep and still hasn’t won one. He gets back, but so does the $5.50 favourite #4 The Quiet Immortal, so it’s the same trip for a bigger quote. $6 is good enough for me.

Two wins from her last three, and #2 Lightning Flash gets the fence over 2000m with nobody keen to lead. Billy Egan can put her where he likes early. I like her to win at $4.60, no each-way cover needed.
