Launceston Horse Racing Tips Fri 16/10/26
Soft 5 at Launceston with the rail out 6m the…

Heavy 10 at Wangaratta, and even with fine weather overhead the ground is a bog. That turns the form on its head and we’re leaning on horses that handle the wet, not the market favourites who don’t. Plenty going on across the eight, and we’ve landed on seven we like. Steamy Mist in the last from gate 1 is where it pays, a tidy little price at $3.70 for a horse drawn to find the rail on heavy going. The rest of the card is about chasing overs from horses suited to the deck.
4. Inspiring $6.50
Barrier 7 · Backmarker · Genuine pace
Big gear change is the hook here. #4 Inspiring gets the stallion chain, tongue control and visors on for the first time, and that lot can wake one up second-up off a let-up. Brodie Loy stays on, the track is a Heavy 10, and the favourite is drawn out in gate 13 doing all the work at $1.85. I’d rather take $6.50 on Inspiring with the gear change than odds-on for one starting from the carpark. On him each-way.
2. Forrest Gump $9.50
Barrier 3 · Leader · Soft pace
$1.95 for #3 Jimmy Beans with two starts and a pair of seconds? No thanks. #2 Forrest Gump rolls out of gate 3 into a soft tempo and can control this from the front. Three placings before the let-up, Brittany Button stays on, and at $9.50 I’m all over him.
2. Meka Vibe $8.50
Barrier 3 · Midfield · No leader
$8.50 for #2 Meka Vibe. The favourite sits midfield himself at $1.28 with just two starts, no leader in the race, and from gate 3 Meka Vibe lands in the same spot. Same map, bigger quote. Easy.
12. O Cara Mia $9.00
Barrier 2 · Off Pace · No leader
Don’t need much to go right at $9. #12 O Cara Mia gets gate 2 in a no-leader race while the fav settles back from gate 7 for $2.45. Same shape, second-up off a freshen, four times the price. I’m with her.
13. Pharoah’s Daughter $7.50
Barrier 5 · Off Pace · Soft pace
On heavy ground over 1590m, the leader cooks up front. #13 Pharoah’s Daughter sits off the speed and picks them off late at $7.50. I’m on.
6. Triple Triple $8.00
Barrier 9 · Off Pace · No leader
Just won fresh and #6 Triple Triple goes again at $8 with ear muffs on. No leader to chase here and he comes home strong late. Gate 9 is the knock. Take him.
8. Steamy Mist $3.70
Barrier 1 · Midfield · No leader
Best Bet is #8 Steamy Mist at $3.70. Gate 1 in a no-leader sprint lets him land handier than the favourite, who settles back from gate 8 at $3.30. Ear muffs come off for the first time, Patrick Moloney rides for Matt Laurie, and on a Heavy 10 over 1000m the horse closer to the speed wins this. Better draw, same race, bigger price. He’s the one.
