Geelong Horse Racing Tips Fri 28/8/26
Big fields right through at Geelong, five races with a…

Where’s the value on a Heavy 10 at Wagga? Not with the short ones, that’s for sure. Reds Express is a fair favourite in the opening 1000m dash, but $2.50 on a no, leader race over the sprint trip is not where we want our money. Laurel Hill in Race 5 is the one we keep coming back to. She goes back and gets home, the pace looks genuine, and $9.00 is a proper price for a horse that gets the run of the race late. Three we’re keen on across a card that will take some sitting through in this heavy going.
6. Reds Express $2.50
Barrier 6 · Midfield · No leader
Third, third, then a second last start, and she’s still not managed to win one. #6 Reds Express gets the tongue tie on, and on a heavy 10 over 1000m that’s the sort of grinder I want. No genuine leader here, so from gate 6 she can sit midfield and come home over the top of them. $2.50 is skinny, but I’d rather have her than #4 The Buncha at $2.90.
1. Laurel Hill $9.00
Barrier 8 · Backmarker · Genuine pace
$9 for #1 Laurel Hill against a favourite resuming from a spell? Yes please. #3 Canny Hell is $2.35 first-up on a heavy 10. Laurel Hill has a win and a second in this prep and gets a genuine tempo to run at from gate 8. On her to win.
5. Blow On The Dice $3.70
Barrier 4 · Midfield · Soft pace
I’ll take #5 Blow On The Dice at $3.70. Blinkers go on, he’s drawn 4, and he won last start off a second and a couple of thirds, so he knows how to finish. Nobody’s going forward here, and #4 Royaltown can easily get stuck on the fence from gate 1 on a Heavy 10 while this bloke picks them off. Have it.
