Randwick Horse Racing Tips Wed 7/10/26
No pure sprints at Randwick, with the card running 1250m…

Fine and dry up in Townsville, and a Soft 5 that should only get better as the eight races tick over. Airborne Hotdog in Race 3 is where we start. He wants to lead from gate 7 in a 1000m dash, and with plenty of speed drawn around him there’s real risk in it, but $6.50 on a horse that can bounce and hold is a price we’re keen on. Later in the day the pace flips the other way. Races 6 and 7 both look short on natural leaders, so Avenue Montaigne and British Gem can sit midfield and pounce, which is a tidy little read on a card with not much else in it.
1. Airborne Hotdog $6.50
Barrier 7 · Leader · Hot pace
Forget the last one. #1 Airborne Hotdog had won two and run second in the three before it, so I’m treating that unplaced run as a blip. Fiona Sandkuhl rides for Scott Cooper, he’ll roll forward from gate 7, and the pace is genuine, which is the worry over 1000m. #4 Hell Of A Bentley is $5 after a well beaten first-up run. I’d rather have Hotdog at $6.50.
6. Avenue Montaigne $2.70
Barrier 9 · Midfield · No leader
I’m with #6 Avenue Montaigne at $2.70, and it’s to win, not each-way. Blinkers on, Ryan Wiggins rides, and with no genuine leader here she can sit midfield and pick them off late; she knows how to finish. #7 Kickoff won last start and gets the rail, but from gate 1 with nothing else going forward, that’s the one doing the early work. Short, and still the right one.
8. British Gem $3.60
Barrier 12 · Off Midfield · No leader
Can #8 British Gem win from gate 12? Two straight wins before a fourth last start says she can, and over the mile Brandon Lerena has time to find cover. #9 Convo gets the inside draw but hasn’t run a place all prep. $3.60, I like her.
