Toowoomba Horse Racing Tips Fri 3/7/26

3 July 2026

Good 4 at Toowoomba with the cloud hanging about, so nothing tricky about the ground today. It’s the way these two races are shaping up that has us keen. Both the ones we like sit in fields with no genuine leader, so there’s a bit to play for out in front. Hidden Nugget can settle off them and swoop late at $8.50 in Race 4, and Woot Woot rolls forward from gate 5 in Race 6 at $5.50. No standout on the card, just a couple worth a look where the tempo suits.

6. Hidden Nugget $8.50

Barrier 3 · Off Pace · No leader

The favourite is the knock here at $1.60. Manpower settles back off the speed just like #6 Hidden Nugget, but in a race with no clear leader I’m not taking odds-on for one that has to come from behind. Hidden Nugget does the same job from gate 3, Chloe Lowe aboard, and he pays $8.50 to find out. Same setup as the fav, far bigger price. I’m on him.

Race 6
7:30pm · 1625m · Hcp (C1) · 10 runners

2. Woot Woot $5.50

Barrier 5 · Pace · No leader

No genuine leader in this, which is exactly what #2 Woot Woot wants. She can roll forward from gate 5 with the tongue tie on, control it up front, and leave the favourite to run her down from the ruck. Won a couple back for Tony Gollan and ran on last start. At $5.50, I’m taking the one making the running.
