Caulfield Horse Racing Tips Sat 10/10/26
Caulfield runs a staying card, from 1100m out to 2400m,…

Eight races at Taree and we’ve found a tip in every one, so there’s plenty going on here today. The going is a Heavy 10, a proper bog, and Race 8 (the last race) has 9 runners; no race on the card has twenty (biggest field is Race 6 with 14). Heavy ground and big numbers means luck counts for plenty, so we’re leaning on the ones who can sit handy or get the right run rather than the ones needing everything to go their way. No standout for us today, just eight worth a look across a busy country card.
8. Kasumi $6.00
Barrier 1 · Off Midfield · Soft pace
The favourite has to burn plenty crossing from gate 7 to find the front, and on a heavy 10 that work tells late. #8 Kasumi sits the rail from gate 1, gets the blinkers on first time, and Peter Graham can swoop when the leader tires. A couple of placings before his spell say he’s not far off. $6, I’m on him.
10. Fashion Spree $3.30
Barrier 1 · Midfield · Soft pace
Blinkers off first time on #10 Fashion Spree, and that’s the angle I’ll back. He keeps running into the minors without quite breaking through, draws the rail in gate 1, and Grant Buckley can save ground the whole way. The soft tempo doesn’t bother me either, because the $2.70 favourite #6 Nulkaba Star sits the same midfield spot from a worse gate. $3.30, happy to take him.
3. Firey Truth $5.00
Barrier 2 · Backmarker · No leader
No genuine leader, and that’s the opening for #3 Firey Truth. Blinkers on first time, drawn 2 on the rail, and Aaron Bullock can bounce him to the front before the $2.70 favourite #1 Hold My Drink crosses from a wider gate. $5 on a horse that can dictate in the wet. To win for me.
11. Bridego $10.00
Barrier 3 · Off Pace · No leader
Where’s the value in race 4? #11 Bridego at $10. He placed last start, draws the rail in gate 3, and Llewellyn can save ground then run over the top late while the $2.45 favourite #6 Microgravity does the work from gate 10. Happy to chance him.
8. Prince Is Game $3.90
Barrier 1 · Off Midfield · Soft pace
#8 Prince Is Game gets the rail from gate 1, the blinkers go on first time, and the $4.40 favourite #4 Yorikiri has the same midfield run to make from a worse draw. Same trip, shorter price, no thanks. $3.90, easy.
5. Barcelona Express $3.40
Barrier 6 · Off Pace · No leader
Don’t need much to go right at this price. #5 Barcelona Express settles off them, but on a heavy 10 over 1400m he’ll be charging home while the leaders feel the pinch in a race with no one keen to lead. Aaron Bullock takes the ride, the concussion plates go on, and at $3.40 he gives us more upside than the favourite trying to make her own luck from the front. Take him to win.
9. Altercation $4.00
Barrier 6 · Off Midfield · Soft pace
#9 Altercation keeps knocking on the door with a swag of placings, and he settles closer than the $5 favourite #2 Debussy, who’ll be buried at the back in a soft-run race. $4, I’m with him.
1. Highly Tempted $4.40
Barrier 5 · Backmarker · No leader
#1 Highly Tempted at $4.40 is where I’m at. No genuine leader, and while he gets back, he actually lands closer than the $3.40 favourite #12 Too Darn Finesse, who’s four lengths off them. Aaron Bullock balances him up and runs over the top on a heavy 10. Better price, better spot, that’ll do me.
