Three bucks about Bodhi Boy in the Corey Brown Cup is the price that jumps out at Taree today. Heavy 9 underfoot, fine overhead, and he’s drawn 3 with the speed to roll forward and run his own race. Plenty going on across the eight, and a few overs worth a look further down the card.

At $8 in a seven-horse field on heavy ground, he gives us a proper run. The fav has to do all the work in front from gate 5, and at that price I want the eight.

I’m on #2 Cashaway Gold at $3.20. Hot pace up front, gate 2, and he gets the box seat while the leaders cook each other. He has won fresh before and added two more after that, and Liberty Smyth keeps the ride. Heavy ground is the worry, but the map outweighs it.

The next danger settles even further back at $5. Take Fashion Spree.

Gate 5, blinkers and tongue tie back on for Liberty Smyth, and he comes in off a second, third and fourth in his last three. Same problem as the fav at less than half the price. I’m with the eight.
