Launceston Horse Racing Tips Fri 16/10/26
Soft 5 at Launceston with the rail out 6m the…

Tidy little midweek card at Tamworth, and for once we’re not fighting the weather. Good 4 and fine overhead, so it’s honest racing for a change. Only three we’re keen on across the eight races, but the Caroma Cup in Race 7 is where it pays. Son Of Eureka draws to lead, and at $8 in a field of 16 we reckon that’s overs if he bowls along in front.
5. Rhinestone Lad $9.00
Barrier 3 · Midfield · Soft pace
$1.75 for #2 Spenzalot is skinny in a seven-horse staying trip. #5 Rhinestone Lad gets the blinkers and visors on this time, draws the inside at gate 3, and over 2100m Rory Hutchings can settle him one off the fence for Kim Waugh. The favourite maps in a similar spot, so you’re taking odds-on to do the same job. At $9, I’m happy to take him each-way.
7. Staccato $8.50
Barrier 9 · Off Pace · Soft pace
The blinkers going on is the hook for #7 Staccato. He’s drawn out wide at gate 9 and settles back, but a second and a third in his last two say he’s found his best, and he knows how to run over the top of them late. That’s $8.50 against a $1.90 leader in Big Lon who has to do it all up front. I’m on.
7. Son Of Eureka $8.00
Barrier 3 · Leader · Soft pace
#7 Son Of Eureka jumps from gate 3 and can roll straight to the front, and in a race with no genuine speed that’s exactly the horse I want leading them up. Lyon is only $3 and has to weave through from midfield to run him down. I’d rather be on the one dictating terms at $8, Adam Farragher up for Liam Ruddy. He’s the value.
