Tamworth Horse Racing Tips Mon 15/6/26
Tidy little midweek card out at Tamworth, seven races and five we’re keen on. Soft 6 underfoot and a fine day overhead, so nothing nasty to read into, just a track with a bit of give in it. Most of our picks are off-pace types in races without an obvious leader, so we want them switching off early and finishing over the top of the field. Bellini Spritz in Race 4 is the one we like best, sitting midfield in a 2100m that should be run honestly.

Winkers go on for the first time and that’s the hook with #3 Northfire. No one really wants the lead here, so from gate 2 he can push up and land closer than his usual spot. A couple of seconds in his last four say he’s knocking on the door. The favourite has to wind up from the back at $2.60, and I’d rather take $6 on the one drawn to get the gun run. On him.

The favourite’s no good to me at $3.50. Supido Star settles back too, so there’s no leader for either of them to chase, and I won’t take $3.50 on a horse with the same problem. #2 Scathingly drew the rail, ran third last start coming back off a let-up, and Ben Looker can balance him for one strong late run. At $6.50, that’s the better gamble.

Genuine speed up top means the $3.20 favourite has to do the work out in front. #1 Bellini Spritz gets the soft midfield run from gate 4 with blinkers going on, and over 2100m I like him to swoop late at $3.70.

#9 Set To Prophet just won and maps to creep forward from gate 6 with no genuine leader to chase. At $4.40, I’m on him.

6. Pretty Cheeky $9.50

$9.50 for #6 Pretty Cheeky is too big to leave alone. She’s won two of her recent starts either side of a couple of let-ups, so she comes in fresh and knows how to finish. The pace looks soft, but she settles back and runs over the top of them late, while Iknowyou has to justify $4 from the wider gate. Izzy Neale rides, and I don’t need much to go right at the price. Take her each-way.
