Dramaticus at $3.10 in the last is the one we keep coming back to at Swan Hill today. Soft 6, fine overhead, and he’s drawn 1 with a soft tempo in front of him. Four we like out of the eight, with a feature in the Elvstroem Classic. Tidy little card if you’re picky.

Hot tempo, gate 3, midfield trip. That’s the setup #9 Aurora Rise needs at 2400m. The fav is drawn out in gate 13 and wants to lead, which is the kind of work I don’t want to pay $4.20 to watch. Bates rides for Henry Dwyer, the winkers stay on, and I’m on at $6. The risk is recent form has been patchy, but at the price I’m happy to live with it.

$10 about #7 Wolf Twenty One? Yes please. Three wins and two thirds from his last seven across a pair of preps, Tom Madden rides for Shane Jackson, and gate 8 is fine in a nine-horse field. The favourite has the same off-pace map at $3.50, and that’s short enough for me. I’m on at the tenner.

#4 Fancify ran sixth first-up, but his prior prep had a second and a third on the board. Genuine pace at 1200m sets up the off-pacer from gate 9, with Cian Macredmond on for Maher. $4.80 against $4.50 about the fav, and I’d rather take the bigger quote for the better form profile. Take him.

I’m sticking with #2 Dramaticus here. Gate 1, blinkers on, McNeil rides for the McEvoys, and his last four since the spell read won, second, won, third. The pace looks soft, but the favourite Pharoah’s Glory has to do the work in front from gate 5 at $6, and Dramaticus has the finish to run over them late. $3.10 about the right favourite. Best bet.
