Randwick Horse Racing Tips Wed 7/10/26
No pure sprints at Randwick, with the card running 1250m…

Sunday card at the Sunshine Coast, Heavy 10 underfoot with fine weather overhead, so the rain has come through and the deck hasn’t dried out. Eight races and seven we’re keen on, which tells you the meeting reads well from the top. Savasteel in the 1 is where we’ve landed for the best bet, drawn 3 with no obvious leader to chase him down. On ground this wet we want a bit of price, and there’s a few past the first that are worth a look.
2. Savasteel $4.50
Barrier 3 · Off Pace · No leader
No genuine leader, gate 3, and Jake Bayliss aboard for the yard. #2 Savasteel has been hitting the line at his last two and now drops back to a small field on a Heavy 10. The favourite is $1.60 with two seconds either side of a let-up, and that’s short enough for a horse still trying to break through. At $4.50, I’m on Savasteel.
17. Imzada $6.00
Barrier 3 · Off Pace · No leader
$1.60 for #5 Parading Gus is a no thanks. Still hasn’t won one, and he gets back in a race with no leader. #17 Imzada has the same setup at $6 from gate 3, with a third last start and Tiffani Brooker on for James Healy. Same problem, much bigger price. I’m on Imzada each-way.
11. Missile Away $5.50
Barrier 3 · Backmarker · No leader
I’m on #11 Missile Away at $5.50. Just ran second after a steady build, blinkers go on, and from gate 3 in a no-leader race he’ll lob closer than the $2.15 favourite who settles further back from gate 4. Same race shape, much better price.
8. Techna $6.50
Barrier 2 · Midfield · No leader
Blinkers on first time. #8 Techna had a win and a second earlier in the prep before two flat runs, so the market’s let him drift to $6.50. With no genuine leader in a six-horse field on a Heavy 10, gate 2 lets him sit midfield for free, while the $1.95 favourite has to do the work pushing across from gate 6. Take him.
5. La Bella Boom $7.00
Barrier 4 · Backmarker · Soft pace
Soft, from the back from gate 4, on a heavy track.
8. Oberoi Princess $5.50
Barrier 6 · Off Pace · Genuine pace
Two wins back-to-back in her last prep, then a let-up, and #8 Oberoi Princess returns with the tongue tie staying on. Genuine speed up front on a Heavy 10 helps the off-pace runners come over the top, and Osmond can drop her in from gate 6. $3.40 is short enough for the favourite coming off an unplaced run. I’d rather have her at $5.50.
14. Makamae $6.00
Barrier 7 · Midfield · Soft pace
Where’s the value in race 8? The $4 favourite Ninjitzou has been finishing third and fourth without putting one away. #14 Makamae returns second-up with Corey Sutherland for dad Stephen, sits midfield from gate 7, and pays $6 for a horse that knows how to win. Take Makamae.
