Strathalbyn Horse Racing Tips Mon 8/6/26

Soft 6 at Strathalbyn, fine overhead, but the fields are the story today with six races carrying a dozen or more runners. That makes it a tricky read, plenty of traffic and a no-leader feel through a lot of the card. We’ve only landed on two we’re keen on across nine races, Took Gardner at $6 in the 5 our best of the day from gate 3. When the fields are this big and nobody really wants the front, we’d rather wait for the right price than throw darts.

6. Took Gardner $6.00

Barrier 3 · Off Pace · No leader

Blinkers go on first time and #6 Took Gardner ran second at his only start. He gets back, but with no clear leader and a gate 3 draw he should land in the right spot to pick them off late. The favourite at $4 has to come from gate 6 and do more work. At $6, with the gear and Alysha Warren up, Took Gardner is the one. Take him to win.

10. Blue Isles $7.50

Barrier 9 · Midfield · No leader

$7.50 about #10 Blue Isles is where I’m at over a short favourite who still has to do the work. United Legend is $2.80 from the rail, but in a no-leader 2050m he settles midfield same as Blue Isles, so I’m not paying that price for the same map. Will Price up, Bill Smart yard, gate 9 isn’t the killer some are making it over the trip. $7.50, on him.
