Ninetyfiveinafifty has put together two thirds and a second across his last three. He’s hitting form. No clear leader on, and the favourite at $2.45 keeps placing without winning. Gate 6 is fine, Declan Bates stays on, and on the heavy track he can come over the top late. Give me Ninetyfiveinafifty at $10, each-way.

Houdini’s $2.20 is short for a horse settling further back from gate 6 in a no-leader 2400m on a Heavy 8. Ardashir gets the inside from gate 2, won two on the bounce a couple of runs back, and should be closer to the speed. At $5, I’m with him.

I’m on Semelle Rouge here at $8.50. Won first up last prep, draws the rail, and with no genuine speed on, saving ground on the fence is gold. The favourite Tan Tat Delight is $3.20 first up off a spell after only running seventh, and sits wider in the run. Semelle Rouge gets the trip he wants from gate 1, quickens late, and that’s a much better price.

Same job as the favourite, but $3.70 against $2.80, and Astiquer actually settles a touch closer. Currie aboard for Hayes, won one of his last two. That’s enough for me.

Easy. Tongue tie on, leader from gate 8, no one to take it up to him. Electric Tommy at $6 is where I’m at. The favourite Rodriquez is $2.70, settles back from a wider gate, has to chase on heavy ground. Take Tommy to lead all the way.
