Heavy 9 at Sale today, and the one we keep coming back to is Happy Tiers in the 8 at $6. He’s a backmarker into a hot speed map with twenty of them lining up, so if they go hard up front he gets the race set up for him. That’s the angle across most of the card here. On heavy ground the leaders cop it late, so we’re keen on the horses that can swoop, and Garnacho in the 6 reads the same way. Seven races we like, one we love, and the value sits with the closers.

Soft tempo is the query for a horse that gets back, but the favourite #3 Crypt settles even further off them from a worse gate, so I won’t take $4.80 on the same problem. Cross-over nose band back on, second and third either side of a let-up, and he knows how to finish off. $5, on him.

Yeah I’m on #6 Tel Aviv. He won last start, and on this heavy 9 he runs over the top of them late, which is more than the fav #1 High Tempo can promise from gate 10 at $2.80. Take him at $6.50.
