Launceston Horse Racing Tips Fri 16/10/26
Soft 5 at Launceston with the rail out 6m the…
The market keeps backing the on-pacers at Roma, and that’s where I think they’ve got it wrong today. Track’s a Good, but it’s the speed maps that matter. Two of our three races have no real leader, so the ones tearing along in front won’t get the soft run everyone’s banking on. That suits the horses doing their best work late, and we’ve got a few we like in that mould. $6 for Kariaction in Race 6 is the one we keep coming back to. Only worth a look in three of the six here, but where there’s no leader, the closers are where it pays.
1. Boulevard Boy $10.00
Barrier 3 · Off Pace · No leader
Ten bucks for a horse that’s won his last two? Yes please. #1 Boulevard Boy draws gate 3, gets the blinkers on, and even with no genuine leader to chase, he knows how to finish off late. The favourite is $1.80 from gate 5 and has to do all the running itself. At $10, I’m on him.
10. Toy Story $10.00
Barrier 9 · Off Pace · Soft pace
The favourite’s no good to me at $3. #5 Idhana settles back off the speed just like half this field, so why take the short one? #10 Toy Story plays the same hand, only he won last start and gives me $10. Blinkers stay on, and over the 900m he just needs to wind up late. Take him each-way.
1. Kariaction $6.00
Barrier 8 · Off Pace · No leader
Winkers go on #1 Kariaction, and that’s the hook. No genuine leader means this turns into a dash home, and he’s got the turn of foot to run over the top of them late. At $6 against a $3.90 favourite that does its best work off the speed too, I know who I want. Take him.
