Bit of a Cup-day feel at Rocky with the Calcutta race on the card and a fine day overhead. Track’s come up a Good 4, so the real form should hold up. Cash Pit in the 2 is the one I keep coming back to, and there’s a few more we’re keen on across the rest. Plenty going on for a Friday.

Gate 1 over the mile and I’m on. #5 Cash Pit comes back placing twice this prep with the blinkers and cross-over nose band on. The favourite is $3.40 from gate 4 with only one decent run since the spell. At $6.50 about the horse drawn the better, I’d rather have Cash Pit.

I’m with #1 Track Tale at $9. The pace is on up front, he gets back with the blinkers, and the leaders should cook themselves while he picks them off late. The favourite at $3.30 sits in much the same spot but I’d rather take the bigger quote. Apel sticks. On him.

$8.50 about the horse on the rail who just won fresh? Yes please. #7 Penrod gets the inside draw and the better run, while #2 Billy Boom has to come from gate 10 to do exactly the same job at $3.30. Take Penrod each-way.

Skip the fav. $1.60 about an off-pacer in a race with no leader is no good. #8 Shemakesmenervous has the same problem from out wider, but he’s coming off a fresh win and pays $9. Take him.
