Rockhampton Horse Racing Tips Fri 19/6/26

19 June 2026

Ten races up at Rockhampton and a Tattersall’s Gold Cup to headline it, so there’s plenty to work through this arvo. It’s a Soft 5 with overcast skies, nothing too testing, just enough give in the ground to keep the on-pacers honest. We’ve gone through the card and landed on five we like. Gunnie Gunfighter in Race 4 is the one we keep coming back to, $5.50 for a midfield run into a genuine tempo. The rest sit in the value range from $6 up, so there’s a few prices worth a look if you want to play deeper into the day.

Race 1

4. Fundora $6.00

Barrier 4 · Off Pace · No leader

#4 Fundora won last start and the blinkers and tongue tie stay on, so he comes here in good order at $6. There’s no obvious leader, which is the query for a horse who settles back, but he knows how to run over the top of them late. The favourite has to do it from a wider gate at $3.60, and I’d rather take the bigger price on the one finishing hard. On him.

Race 3
12:17pm · 1100m · Mdn Hcp · 8 runners

1. Jungle Rhythm $6.50

Barrier 3 · Midfield · Genuine pace

No thanks to the favourite at $3. #1 Jungle Rhythm ran a nice second last start, comes back fresh with the winkers on, and lands midfield from gate 3. There’s genuine speed on, so he gets the tempo to pick them off late. Take him at $6.50.

2. Gunnie Gunfighter $5.50

Barrier 4 · Midfield · Genuine pace

I’m with #2 Gunnie Gunfighter at $5.50. Genuine speed on and he settles midfield from gate 4, so the tempo sets up for him to pick them off late with the blinkers and ear muffs back on. #1 Remember The Boys wants $2.50 off just one run and a spell, far too short for one with plenty to prove. He ran third last start and is ready. On board to win.

Race 9
3:57pm · 1200m · Sprint Hcp · 10 runners

1. Pocket Full $6.00

Barrier 4 · Off Pace · No leader

Where’s the value in race 9? #1 Pocket Full at $6. No genuine leader, but he comes home strong from off the speed and keeps the blinkers and ear muffs on. #12 Joy A Plenty is $3.30 and has to round them up from midfield off the same kind of run. I’ll chase the overs. Easy.

Race 10
4:37pm · 1200m · Hcp (Bm60) · 12 runners

3. Amberinger $8.00

Barrier 3 · Off Pace · No leader

Eight bucks for #3 Amberinger and I’m chasing it. Won a couple this prep, finishes hard late, and with no genuine leader here that suits him from the inside draw. The fav at $4.80 has to do the work up front. On the overs.
