Quirindi Horse Racing Tips Tue 4/8/26

Fine day at Quirindi and just two we’re keen on across the seven races. The Cup Day Maiden is the one they’ll all be talking about, but neither of ours is in it, so we’re happy to sit that one out. Race 5 is where it gets interesting, Giddy Up Griff drawn 5 in a 13-horse field with the speed likely to be soft, and he should get every chance from just off midfield. Then Savoca at $4.40 in the 6, coming from the back of a 10-horse field with no obvious leader, which is the risk and the reason he’s the price he is. Good 3 underfoot, so no excuses either way.

6. Giddy Up Griff $2.20

Barrier 5 · Off Midfield · Soft pace

The lugging bit going on is the hook with #6 Giddy Up Griff. There’s not much speed in this, but he doesn’t need any. He settles only three lengths off it from gate 5, and Kody Nestor can push him forward the moment it slows up. Oenology has to come from further back to run him down. Short at $2.20, sure, but I’m happy to take it, and to win, not each-way.

8. Savoca $4.40

Barrier 4 · Backmarker · No leader

No genuine leader here, and I like that for #8 Savoca. From gate 4 he can land a length off it while He’s My Warrior gives them five lengths start from the rail. $4.40, more than fair.
