Quiet one up north at Port Hedland today, seven races and the track riding a nice dry Good. We only found two worth a look across the card, so no need to force a bet in every race. Oscar Winner in the 3 is the one we keep coming back to, $5 on him over the 1600m, though he’s drawn out in 9 and will be settling back off a no-leader tempo. Another Nephew in the 4 gets the opposite job, barrier 1 and a nice midfield spot over 2050m at $3.60. Two we like, the rest can wait.

Race 3
4:15pm · 1600m · Hcp (56+) · 10 runners

5. Oscar Winner $5.00

Barrier 9 · Off Pace · No leader

Blinkers go on and #5 Oscar Winner drops in at $5 off a win last start. The knock is gate 9, but with no clear leader up front he can work across and finish over the top of them. Sharni Webster stays on. I’d rather have him than the favourite at $4.80 still trying to find form.

Race 4
4:47pm · 2050m · Hcp (68+) · 9 runners

4. Another Nephew $3.60

Barrier 1 · Midfield · No leader

#4 Another Nephew won last start off a couple of seconds and draws the fence in a race with no genuine leader. From gate 1 he gets the cheapest run into it while #1 Dynamic One, the fav, has to work forward from gate 5. At $3.60 against the favourite’s $2.90, I’m on the one saving ground.
