Margin Call in the 5 at Pakenham is the one that jumped out when we went through this card. He’s drawn 1 in a 12-horse sprint over 1100m, and with the speed on early there’ll be a bit of pressure to run at, which suits a horse who can sit midfield and finish over the top of them. There are showers about, so the ground could keep changing through the day. Only the one we’re keen on here, and $3.00 for Margin Call is enough for us to have a go.

Gate 1, ear muffs on before the race, and Blake Shinn up for Ciaron Maher. There’s genuine speed on here, which is exactly what #2 Margin Call wants from midfield; he can drop in off the fence and get a cheap run behind it. He was third last start after a flat first-up ninth, so the fitness is there now. $3, and I’m happy to take that to win.
