Newcastle Horse Racing Tips Sat 11/7/26
Sun’s out at Newcastle but the track’s still a Heavy 8, so don’t let the fine sky fool you. They’re racing on testing ground, and that puts a line through a few of the flashy on-paper types who never handle the wet. We went through the whole card and there’s a few we’re keen on, spread right across the day. Broadway Follies in Race 8 is the one we love. $7 for a horse that can slot into the run and finish off is worth a look.

#8 Sprightly Affair maps to lead here, and over 900m on a Heavy 8 with genuine speed on, that is exactly where I want to be. He ran third first-up last prep and resumes for Nathan Doyle, so he comes back fresh and fit. The favourite is only $2.50 off a run of well-beaten efforts. Give me the leader at $5.

The favourite is the one I’m against here. $1.60 for #4 Misty Veil, and she settles right back in a race with no leader, so she has to round them up from the tail. #2 Tsardeal has the same run to make but pays $5 for it, drawn just off her in gate 6. I’d sooner take the overs than the odds-on.

Six bucks for #5 Costabit, and that’s the price I want in this one. He draws on the fence in gate 2 and settles closer than the favourite, who has to come from further back out of a wider gate. Costabit ran third last start for Gerald Ryan, and from that low draw Lee Magorrian can land him in the right spot. I’m on him at $6 over #2 Free And Fast at $3.10.

Overs, and I don’t need much to go right here. #4 Broadway Follies draws the inside in gate 3 and sits midfield, so he gets the economical run on a Heavy 8. The favourite, #8 Nosey Parker, is $4 and has to come from the tail off a run of well-beaten efforts, and I’m not paying that. Broadway keeps hitting the placings. $7, take him to win.
