Launceston Horse Racing Tips Fri 16/10/26
Soft 5 at Launceston with the rail out 6m the…

Damascus Gate is the one that jumped off the page going through Muswellbrook. He drops into a Bm58 over 1750m in race 4, so he can find the front and set his own tempo. The track is a Good 4 and it stays dry overhead, so the map does the talking here rather than the ground. At $6 for a horse who looks like leading, he is worth a look. Three we like across the seven races, no standout among them, just three we are happy to be with.
1. Damascus Gate $6.00
Barrier 9 · Leader · Soft pace
Not much speed here and #1 Damascus Gate wants the front. Blinkers go on, Jordie Thompson can hustle him across from gate 9, and if he gets there cheap he’s hard to run down over 1750m. Two seconds and a third in his last five says he’s close. #5 Gemtiki has to come from midfield to reel him in at $2.05. I’d rather have $6.
1. Force March $2.45
Barrier 4 · Off Midfield · No leader
I’m on #1 Force March. He came back off a let-up and ran second first go, he gets the ear muffs on before the gates, and from gate 4 Mikayla Weir can drop him in a length or two off midfield without doing any work. #3 Red Planet Bar is the one to fear at $6, but he’s first up himself and stuck out in gate 10. $2.45 is short, and I’m still happy to take it. Have it.
10. Kakoda $2.50
Barrier 9 · Midfield · Hot pace
Who does the hot tempo suit at 1000m? #10 Kakoda. #11 Triple Yes has to burn to hold the front from gate 7, while Kakoda drops in midfield from gate 9 and gets the last crack at them. She won and placed twice through the middle of this prep, so I like her to win at $2.50, not each-way.
