Mt Gambier Horse Racing Tips Sun 12/7/26

Mt Gambier is a full afternoon, seven races and we’ve landed on six of them. It’s a Heavy 10 with showers about, so it’s proper testing ground and no track for the faint-hearted. There’s no standout we’re happy to call the one, just a card full of runners worth a look at fair prices. Nothing under $3.40 in our list, which tells you we’re hunting value rather than backing every short one. Pick the ones you like, because there’s plenty going on here.

Forecast for Mount Gambier, South Australia · WeatherAPI.com · captured 10:31am Sun 12 Jul
Race 2
1:30pm · 1200m · Mdn Plate · 11 runners

11. Terralight $3.60

Barrier 5 · Backmarker · No leader

No clear leader, from the back from gate 5, on a heavy track.

Race 3
2:10pm · 1400m · Hcp (54) · 10 runners

8. Victory Queen $3.40

Barrier 5 · Midfield · No leader

Winkers go on for #8 Victory Queen and she comes here off a win last start. With no genuine leader in the race, she can land midfield from gate 5 and get a soft enough run, while Astrodean has to do it the hard way from out wide in gate 8 and settles further back again. On heavy going I’d rather be the one closer to the speed. At $3.40, I’m on her.

Race 4
2:50pm · 2400m · Hcp (Bm60) · 9 runners

7. Eyes To Me $5.00

Barrier 9 · Midfield · No leader

Five bucks for #7 Eyes To Me is where I’m at. Over 2400m on a heavy 10 with no clear leader, he settles midfield from gate 9 and has run into a couple of placings lately. The $4 favourite Pianta has to come from further back off the fence, so I’d rather be the one closer to the speed and taking the bigger price. On him.

Race 5
3:30pm · 1200m · Hcp (56) · 11 runners

8. Symphonite $4.20

Barrier 8 · Off Midfield · Soft pace

Symphonite. Blinkers on for the first time, and $4.20 looks the right side of the market. #8 Symphonite settles midfield from gate 8, and with the speed on he can wind into it late on this heavy deck. The $5 favourite Live Forever has to make his ground from further back again, so I’d sooner take the shorter run and the bigger horse. On him.

Race 6
4:10pm · 1200m · Group Of Companies Hcp (Bm66) · 9 runners

6. The Kill Club $5.50

Barrier 8 · Pace · Soft pace

Soft tempo on a heavy 10, and #6 The Kill Club rolls forward to make his own luck. He won a couple back and should get an easy lead while the $3.90 fav #5 Naralinga has to come from gate 9 and the tail. At $5.50, I’ll take the one in front.

Race 7
4:50pm · 1550m · Hcp (56) · 11 runners

3. Toes In First $5.50

Barrier 2 · Midfield · No leader

Drawn on the rail and coming off a win last start, #3 Toes In First gets the sweet run this no-leader race sets up. The $3.20 fav #1 Bruzani has to swoop from further back on a heavy 10, while my one sits closer from gate 2. At $5.50, I’m taking the horse saving ground. Take him.
