Kilcoy Horse Racing Tips Sat 20/6/26
Country racing at Kilcoy and the track’s come up a Soft 5 with fine weather overhead, so nothing too tricky underfoot. We went through all eight races and found four worth a look. Hurkle Durkle in Race 6 is the one we keep coming back to at $3.90, drawn 8 but landing in front with not much else wanting the lead. That soft speed makes him hard to run down. The rest of the card is a mix, so we’ve picked our spots rather than chased every race.

The favourite’s no good to me at $2.20. #3 Flying Akeed has to come from gate 10 in a race with no clear leader, plenty to do at that price. #6 Alkebulan sits back too, but he draws the rail and has placed a couple of times lately. At $8.50 against one with the same problem, I’m with him.

Blinkers go on for the first time and that’s the hook for me. #4 Alfa Dundee has been building into it, two thirds then a second before he broke through last start. With no genuine leader, Harrison Shaw can roll him forward from gate 4 instead of getting stuck back. At $6 he’s the one I want over the short fav. On him to win.

Soft pace and no one else keen to lead, so #3 Hurkle Durkle gets to control this from the front. The favourite has to chase him down at $2.30, and I’d sooner be on the one making the running. Leah Martyn for Tony Gollan, $3.90, take him.

8. Sapphire Reign $7.00
Barrier 4 · Off Pace · No leader
Seven bucks looks too big here. Blinkers first time on #8 Sapphire Reign, and with no genuine leader she can bowl forward from gate 4 rather than getting back. Two wins not long ago, Micheal Hellyer aboard. I’m on at $7.
