Big fields at Kembla on heavy ground, and that turns the form upside down with 16 plus runners in most races. Think I Will in the 3 is the one we’re keenest on, the rest are worth a look without being loved.

On a Heavy 8 with no genuine leader, I don’t want the short quote about a horse with the same problem from a worse draw. $5 about Our Lady Peace, on her.

Donwon at $6, on him. Genuine speed from gate 4, and over 1000m on a Heavy 8 the leader gets all the favours. The fav at $2.40 has to come from midfield out of gate 7. I’d rather have the front-runner at three times the price.

Blinkers first time, no genuine leader, Think I Will rolls to the front from gate 6. The fav at $2.25 has to chase on heavy ground, and that is a tough ask out of midfield. Rachel King for Gai Waterhouse. $3.20, take him.

Where’s the value in race 4? She Can Salsa at $5.50. The fav at $2.80 has been second three times running and still has to lead from gate 2 on heavy ground. She’s back fresh off a third at her only start, Rachel King’s on, and the genuine tempo lets her charge home late. I like her at the price.

I’m with Autumn Blonde at $3.20 here. Nose roll on for the first time, gate 7 is workable, and on heavy ground over 1500m the soft tempo lets him pick them off late. The fav at $2.60 sits in similar territory in the run, so I’d rather take the longer quote for the same shape of race. Stick with him.

The fav has to lead from gate 8 on heavy ground with genuine pressure on. Not for me at $3.60. Presides gets a better trip from gate 3, blinkers and tongue tie on, and won fresh two back before the let-down last start. $3.80, all over him.
