Only the one we’re keen on at Kalgoorlie today, and it sits in Race 6. The market’s busy crowding onto the short ones over 1760m, but we reckon they’ve got Lombadina wrong at $5.50. It’s a Good 4 and fine overhead, so no track excuses either way. Drawn 3 and settling midfield in a genuinely run race, he gets every chance to peel off the back and run them down late. Thin card, but this one’s worth a look.

Blinkers come off again, and from gate 3 that shift could be the thing that sparks #2 Lombadina back to life. There’s genuine speed on here, which suits a horse settling midfield with room to build into it. The favourite maps in the same spot but from a wider gate, and I’d rather take $5.50 than $3.30 on Jayashree doing the same work. On him each-way.
